EDIT: Swordmen are OP?

I agree with you to some point, but as I played more archer than other classes I will focus on them:
“Archers could easily took down any bosses without taking a single scratch.”

  • Bosses are a small part of the game, in the sense that we have more and more grind as we level up. Bosses aren’t repeteable at all, like in other games where you can repeat them everytime you want. You can’t farm them for itens nor for exp.
  • Archers have huge penalties against bosses. Yes, some specific classes in the archer tree can deal with them pretty easily, not all of them.
  • My highlander can kill bosses faster. He does not get instakilled. His basic atacks are faster thus more responsive, making it easier to dodge skills.
  • Swords have a bit lower sp, but also much lower sp costs. Most of these costs also scales slower than the archer ones. And swords buffs in gereral lasts much more time than archers’.

Don’t think nerfing is the solution. I’ve played the different classes, and yes its harder to level/solo on the other classes which makes it frustrating. However, nerfing swordsmen would make EVERY class frustrating to play which wouldn’t really solve any problems.

Instead of nerfing swordsmen, making sp more available for caster classes like wizards and clerics would make levelling a lot more easier. I remember back in RO, mages had a skill which improved sp recovery. Maybe give it as an attribute for wizards and clerics? The goal is to make every class fun to play and not to put everyone in the same frustrating boat.

I really agree with you bro.

swordsmen should be nerfed AND wiz/archer should be buffed

“Should swordsman be nerfed?”

TLDR: Yes

Post fixed.

So how would you nerf them then?

To all those screaming nerf, you should really see how some class are later on. Nerfing early game skills rekts endgame skills. Alot of swordman skills are really strong early on because that add a set amount of dmg increase (gungho + Frenzy etc) however this wont scale well at higher levels, infact at 600 this selfbuffs will be pretty crappy, but at low lvls, 1-100, its pretty strong.

Yeah, I really regret going for Swordsman2, because GungHo and Concentrate are really really useless on higher levels.

Just because you played Highlander doesn’t mean Swordies are generally overpowered. Highlander is the best newbie friendly sword class. Cartar Stroke is too strong for early game but it starts to get weaker as you progress. Some are even starting to rant about Cartar Stroke not being OP on higher levels.

Meanwhile, Zaibas is an extremely strong skill of Krivis (Cleric) which has overheat. Yet no one rants about them.

30 sec cd and needs c2 to become an aoe kinda balances it, also its the only skill to hit flying mobs with.
i don’t want to see nerfs i want to see other classes to be brought on par with how easy swordman classes have it/ how effective they can aoe grind

General consensus is that early game = Swordsman > every other class but late game, Swordsman class paths falls off. Shouldn’t other classes simply be given better quality of life buffs (like wizards getting an improved sp regen bonus) for early game to make solo a little less hassle. There just has to be a specific perk you get from playing specific classes instead of outright nerfing the classes. In other words, one balance perspective is to identify a class strength and buff that up instead

I think more dps classes should be more like swordman instead.

Just to emphasize what has been said, Swordsman is only OP on early levels…
Paladin smite lvl 5 can give easy 3k damage (not crit, btw) and has only 9sec cooldown.

I’m playing a Barbarian, lvl 96, but I tell you that I’m bit frustrated because I feel like every other class branch is better than mine. (And I don’t think I’m wrong, seriously)

Wont lie, i made a swordsman YESTERDAY, and im already over level 100. I’d be level 120 if the dungeons were not locked up and buggy. I’ve got over 100 EXP cards in my inventory as well, but even though im not a barb or highlander, my Rodelero was quite literally facerolling bosses.

The other classes definitely need some help, and i think it stems from the fact that swordsmen rely less on their SP as opposed to the other classes, and even without their SP, their basic attacks hit HARD.

I’m all for balancing everything out and then nerfing them all a tad bit, game is too soloable no matter what route you choose, swordsmen just have the upper hand because of their retarded easy survivability and BIG DAMAGE HITS.

If people could stop to say “swordman class” when they mostly speak about two handed sword highlanders/barbarians.

I’m playing Hoplite / Cataphract, and i feel ok but not OP at all, more like a bit underpower. I can see lot of classes doing more damages than me and I’m not that op as a tank. A nerf to the whole swordman branch would kill these classes, they already struggle to be honest.
