Earth Tower - Archer builds for it [help]

Hi, everyone!

I’m A2QS3 right now, almost rank6. At first, I was aiming to Falconer due the synergy of Circling, but, before making such move, I was wondering if it is still that much required/valuable to make Earth Tower smoothly.

What are your opinions? Thanks in advance!

Unless no other elememe is online, an archer gets the call! I’d say a heavy aoe dps archer. Sapper2/wugu3 or Scout3/Rogue1 capture build.

The only archer that provides any real value in ET is an A2 Ranger3 SR2 with a krivis3 being a melstis slave, every other archer that gets brought into ET is mostly there to be carried by his team for lolopanther gear.

Any archer you can bring into ET can easily be replaced by a second chronomancer or a second ele-meme and perform better. The only real class that provides any support utility is QS3 with Pavise, but last I checked the main issue with clearing ET5 in iToS is aoe DPS check for the first floor, not survivability

I’ve been digging a lot the past days looking for an answer. I know that the comp of that team is affecting a lot our community and that SR was really something. And this is a problem…

Since that video, everyone is working to reproduce it - ok. But I believe that others comps will get it soon or later on… I like the A2QS3. Maybe I’ve should looked better to it, maybe another rank instead A2 could had add more to the build… anyway. My point is: what I can do to make the A2QS3 a good presence at the Tower? I know that atm the mage class is unique for it, but I want to make it and wait for the future - hope that they give more to the other classes :confused:

The line Falconer - Cannon seems useful, some said that gives a good aoe and all, but I’m really not up to it… falcon ok, but Cannon…

The SR2 looks like a solid choice, since that Running Shot can be used with the Retreat Shot. But does it really make their job? Idk… so, every opinion can help ^^ I didn’t made it yet (ET), I’m blind at this thread…

Again with this. You do realize that that composition only worked out because of the SR’s skills being labeled as Strike instead of Missile? That’s basically the reason why the ele became a full time lethargy caster.

I’m not buying that unless someone from IMC/Nexon tells me that SR’s skill are intended to do Strike damages.

That’s not a bug, multiple archer skills are listed as strike and retreat shot is one of them. I don’t know why you keep calling it a bug.

Actually SR 2 shines there even without Krivis 3. Archers CAN help there. There are synergies that makes it work. Sappers can get up to 13k+ damage too. Even Fletchers CAN help there. Musketeers can kill a wave with some skill and buffs and AoE Attack Ratio.

Imo, it all depends on the purpose of everyone there. A Fletcher would help a lot with bosses and it can work with linkers.

Please, don’t say “only” and things about builds for Earth Tower. It is hard to make different comp works. But they CAN work, even if you need to try hard to get it working. Also, note that you NEED high level attributes there. It isn’t a magic of “hey, I’m ele3wl with 10% attribute and your 70%+ Retreat Shot will never be better than my skill”.

It is also based on team work and coordination. Also, keep in mind that Earth Tower isn’t “all floors of AoE dps check”. Getting carried in one floor doesn’t means you are just carried by the other 4 floors or more.

@Koriyu Retreat Shot can’t be used with Running Shot on kToS anymore. SR is really a solid choice, but because it does good AoE damage.

@kidsanity Actually it is Missile and Strike at the same time as well other skills like Stone Shot. There are hidden synergies that you will learn after playing full time as an archer.

It certainly isn’t core if that’s what you’re wondering.

Try running a 5-man ET group in itos right now that replaces ele3 with sapper2 wugu2 cannon, you won’t get very far.

The point is the core three builds for ET in itos is wiz3 ele3, cryo3 chrono3, and c2 diev3, the other two party members can be any kind of suboptimal dps or support foryou to clear floor 5 of ET, so your archer build is irrelevant. You could be a fletcher3 with no aoe dps and still clear floor 5 if the rest of the party is geared enough and executes well. What’s more important is convincing a static group to bring you along in the first place, but don’t go making an archer build expecting it will guarantee you a spot in random parties or that you can easily slide in when a member of their static drops off.

I have a musket and I can say that some of my skills are counted as pierce, but I’m really doubtful about this unless they release any sort of documents that it was indeed intended.

Yes. But that is the only “perfect” way of doing it with SR. You can do that without a “great” setup. More like, find your way of doing damage and things.

If you go that way nobody will do Earth Tower because no item transcendence, no +700 blessings maybe even because they don’t have costumes to be that cute here. lol

QS3 has a great DPS as a single target fighter. Since that Running can’t stack with Retreat, is still a good idea going in that way or may I, then, continue in the single target play style and go for musketeer?

Of course, it will be a pain find party and so, but I’m afraid that, going as SR, I’ll kinda “kill” all the mechanics of Running Shot and making all those ranks before useless.

Not really, you can utilize it by using the Retreat Shot during Running Shot’s downtime and vice versa.

i’m a A2 / QS3 / SR 1 level 178 and since I have a 200 Druide, I do know what will await my SR in the near future and it will be slow progression while solo! It is not because the class by definition is bad but because the route is extremly gear depended.

For my Druid it is currently still a joke to level solo (i don’t know what will be at 220 currently and upwards) but the class does not rely heavily on gear. If you don’t have at least very good 170+ Gear , you will start to have a lot less fun with the class. The nice advantage of the route A/QS/SR is clearly the movement speed (+4) from Pet and the ability to buy HP and Evasion with silver instead of statpoints which you can (depending on gear etc etc) put into str to increase your dmg!

Is SR viable with scout c3?

Not really a class you want to combine with due to skills that will dismount you and cloaking cannot be used while mounted.

If you go Scout C3, its probably best to go canoneer to have ET viability - lots of big strong AoEs~
