Dungeon Party Matching Needs Improvement

Game is fantastic so far, but my friends and I had a catastrophic experience last night while trying to do an instance together via the party matching.

TLDR: party matching feature does not support party matching remaining slots in a pre-made party. This is such an important and rudimentary social feature, I feel it really needs to be implemented.

The 3 of us gathered excitedly around the dungeon noticeboard, (in our own party) and while, a little cautious if it would work, we tried to search for a party, hoping that the party-finder would fill in the remaining 2 slots and start the dungeon with us in a full group.

Alas, we were all ported to separate parties, and we realised we can never play together using the party-finder to fill up our party.

The only solution is either to find 2 other players to complete the party before entering, or simply play individually in a pug.

Issue #2: After we left the matched group because we still wanted to play together, we realised our dungeon quota was used up upon entry, and we had just wasted one. T_T

Maybe change the rule so that the quota is only used if player killed 1 mob in the instance?

Also I realised the the moment you leave, you leave the dungeon, what happens for disconnected players then?

Thanks of reading, and I hope IMC has the power to at make some of these happen.

It’s not always guaranteed that you’ll be in the same queue. Especially when a lot of people are searching for party. The best way to do it is to hit search party at the same time. I’ve done it a couple of times with friends, but most of the time, we’re sent to different parties.

Why would you leave? Of course it’s going to take up one. If a player disconnects, he can re-enter the dungeon as long as the others are still inside.

This is actually the first time I’ve seen someone complain about the system. You’ve made a mistake. You know what you did wrong. Don’t do it again. It’s as easy as that.

Like each other before queuing up for dungeon. The dungeon matching system will match up players who are in range of each other as well as likes each other first before filling the remaining spots. This information is available in the Help tab in game.

Ah! Thats great advice! Thanks, will try it out.

Hi Firefly, I know the current system does not guarantee you will be in the same queue, which is why I feel it would be more intuitive if we are queuing for a dungeon in a party, that our party, be it full or half-full be all in the same party/queue for the dungeon. The current system is more linear for solo players looking for a party, which is great, but it would be made great if it would cater to guildies/friends looking for another player or two to fill their party.

You’re right about my mistake, and if not for realising my mates and I were not in the same party, I wouldn’t have left the party, so this was a special circumstance. Thanks for informing that one can re-enter the dungeon in the event of a disconnect though! I think others who come across this thread would find some of this information very useful.

I don’t see an issue here… Just use a megaphone and find 2 more people?

As for the leaving part, I laughed.

Seems like you’ve never played an old school mmo where you actually have to talk to people to make groups.

You somehow didn’t get his post. He’s talking about queuing on a party/mission with 2-3 friends in his party. And that XP boost from the queue is too good to skip…

On the other hand, this indeed needs to get reworked or tweaked. Best example I could give is a game called **** (not gonna say the name directly). Parties there can have a maximum of 4 members. If you have a party that has 3 members in it (including you) and start to queue on a dungeon, the game will match you and your party with a solo player who also queued.

This is what the game needs but from what I have observed, the queues will only match you to players in level range so there might be some complications if a low level were to party up with a high level and start to queue. Best thing to probably do is give level restrictions on queuing.

Example on dungeons: Only players level 90~114 can queue on Level 90 dungeon. Only level 50~89 can queue on Level 50 dungeon and so on.

Example on missions: If the highest leveled player on the party has more than 10 levels than the lowest leveled player, they won’t be able to queue.
