Dungeon Finder and Premade

As it stands, the Dungeon Finder will only allow someone to queue solo. This means that you are punished needlessly for being anything less than a group of 5. Someone playing with one or two friends shouldn’t have to say “well, guess we have to separate now for our queue”. With dungeons being what they are in the late game, this seems like a huge oversight.

Remove the EXP bonus (just for you, not for anyone in your party that happens to be solo) if that’s the issue, but I really don’t see any harm in allowing multiple people to queue using the Finder at once.

EDIT:

I am not saying whatsoever to remove the EXP bonus for solo players or otherwise alienate them. All I’m suggesting is to allow premades to use the finder to fill their gaps. The current system forces them to play a multiplayer game solo or try to find someone to fill their gap, which the finder makes impossible.

This is a basic facet of the system that every other MMO I’ve ever played or heard of implements. How many people are planning to play the game in groups of 2 through 4 and not aware they’ll have to split up for every single dungeon in the game?

So what I propose is:
-Allow groups of 2 through 4 to use the premade
-Remove the EXP bonus of 20% for premades using the finder
-Keep the EXP bonus for any solo player slotted into a group

looks like even more restrictions put on the players that are suposed to stop botter/goldfarming teams

this is definitely something that needs to be fixed, I hope they fix the dungeon queue finder to at least you can queue with your party

Nope, solo players already have disavantage. We need something to compensate it.

premade players will level faster than solo players.

Nothing is stopping you from using the finder if premades are allowed to use it and you will be slotted into a premade because there’s no “trinity” enforced in this game. If anything it’ll make your life easier.

Bonus must stay. We already level slower than premade groups, we need something to compensate it.

This is a pretty big issue for anyone playing in small groups. It can kill the experience for these groups. It doesn’t bring anyone down at all to implement this.

Do note that I’m not saying premades should also have the EXP bonus for queuing as a solo, but there should be some way for premades to stick together while also filling the gaps in their party. It’s a MMORPG after all.

I don’t think you understood my post. I said keep the bonus for solo players but still allow premade groups to use the finder without the bonus EXP in order to fill gaps in their group.

It could be to the fact that a 3 person group can be poisonous to a group finder. You find it all the time in pre made groups. Everything is the person who is soloings fault.
Why?
Because he isn’t on Skype or team speak…
Little things like that.

I mean if you want to form a group don’t use the finder and ask then invite to join.
Build up a strong bond with who you have invited an have him in your group for future times.

You act like people wouldn’t still be toxic regardless. “People being assholes” isn’t a reason not to implement something extremely basic that every MMO with a finder ever has.

Why would anyone that’s not in a group not use the finder? You’ll never find anyone to invite that way. The finder itself kills that type of grouping.

I actually like this system.
In too many games, after a while, if you are not in a group, or if your group members quit the game, you can only end up soloing, and then you end up quitting too because you can no longer clear the new contents without a group.

Again, there’s nothing stopping anyone from doing what they can do now.

Full premades of 5 will not use the finder anyway. There is no change.
Any less than 5 cannot use the finder as is and must recruit someone… which is impossible because every solo player is using the finder.

If anything, this change would help solo players because you have more of a chance to get slotted into a competent premade.

I am NOT suggesting they remove the solo EXP bonus or otherwise ruin the feature for solo players. All I’m suggesting is to make it more friendly to people that have friends but not enough for a full premade.

The system is good as is. Premades slotting for Random Finder+Bonuses is a horrible idea.

Anyone play Echo of Souls? They had a similar system where if you used the party Finder system you got rewards based on it. So premades would slot it and then kick/harass people who they did not approve of class wise. And then there were the worse people who would use the system to put in half their group and then leave the dungeon if they were not partied with their other half (Just so they could get the random rewards).

Too many ways to abuse the system if you let premades in.

Lets just hope that the instances are ‘hard’ and require ‘team work’. I would rather group up with people in-game than use a group finder because:

  • They will most likely talk to me in chat / join my TS server for party
  • Socializing allows your friends list to fill up and in return fill group spots quicker in future and also adding more fun to the game (playing alone sucks right ?)
  • Due to the daily limit the ‘better players’ will want to form groups of trusted players and will create a community that wont use the random party finder.

these are some of the things that come to mind if the instances are hard and not easy mindless things that a random group can do without issue.
