Dungeon EXP, preferably all map EXP - needs to share globally and while dead

I’m sure I’m not the only one to be screwed by a poorly timed death in a mission or dungeon - not getting EXP from bosses because of a death feels really shitty.

I’m requesting that EXP be granted even while dead, and even when not near the boss. Preferably this would just be something that can be removed map-wide, but obviously there are pros cons to that.

Bosses though, should always grant everyone in the party EXP.

I disagree.I think there needs to be proper penalties for dying, and loss of EXP makes sense.

Besides,if you have a soul crystal or healer in your party, then it really isn’t a problem.

I don’t agree, because comparing to untimely deaths that result in no exp, this will encourage people to go afking in dungeons which will screw the community up even more than dungeon rushers.

I’m not suggesting that there not be a properly implemented boot/kick system in parties. We have AFK’ers in dungeons now as it is and there isn’t global EXP - to punish legitimate players in an effort to punish trolls has never been a good idea. Fact of the matter is that missions are so poorly designed for parties that you often end up fighting mobs/bosses that are 14+ levels higher than you, resulting in oneshots.

That said, there can be no consistent or fair punishment for dying in parties as the game is now. We are not guaranteed a healer with every run, let alone one that has a res skill - and expecting players to shell out money for TP to buy soul crystals is definitely some shady business that no player should be supporting.

Deaths, poor LFG party organization and composition, bugs, lag, disconnects - the deck is stacked severely against the player in ways that extend far past just their own abilities. Don’t punish players even more by turning a good half hour of meaningful progression into a puddle of worthlessness and try to call it a “proper penalty”.

Except Soul Crystals are 4 TP,and you get 5 free TP a day.You aren’t shelling out any money you had to pay for.I got a decent stack of them early game when dying is very unlikely and have kept up since. It’s not hard.

If you keep dying despite that, though? You need to reconsider what you’re doing.Get better potions,go level up some more,or invest in better defensive gear/stats [CON].This game isn’t all that punishing to begin with, the penalty for dying needs to stay the way it is.

True. I dont know how other players spend their free 5 TP. I buy 1 soul crystal and 1 megapone everytime i gained free 5 TP.

With all the issues the game currently have (lags, mostly), it is EASY and COMMON to die on a boss fight without you, the player having any fault.

It is one thing to die because you played poorly, but another do die because the game is awfuly non-optimized and the screen was frozen when the boss appeared.

I die ALL THE TIME in boss fights, because as a glass cannon, every mistep I take is very penalized and with the lags and the game freezing up all the time, sometimes it gets unplayable.

And yeah, I get mad when I die and loose the boss exp. So even if there are setbacks, I fully agree with the OP: the boss exp should be splited with the WHOLE TEAM ALL THE TIME.

The alternative would be fixing the lag/DC issues, but we all know it is not happening any time soon.

No. Especially since there is no vote kick in random dungeon parties, this mean you could enter and AFK while still getting xp even while dead! Just no. And how would this even make any sense? How can you gain “Experience” (in the broad sense of the word), if you were dead or were far away from the battle. How can it be that by not participating or witnessing something you get wiser/better? No.

Dying from lag or not, the solution isn’t to let people gain EXP while dead. If one of the DPS’ers in my party dies, he’s gonna get a Res from me and go back to DPS’ing. Even if I wasn’t a Priest, I’d expect him to self-res himself or Local Respawn and rush back just like I did when I didn’t have Soul Crystals on me. Upon re-rolling to non-Priest, I’m not gonna have DPS’ers in my party fall down, and then just lay there playing dead while we finish off the boss at a slower pace.

Someone never play RO and any other ToS-like MMO to begin with lol…

Talking about RO, there are interesting features there that ToS could benefit from.

In RO we had a beautfiul thing called /effect, a command that disabled all FX from the game. That killed all the lag issues for me that I had back then (specially during WOE / MVPS). It would be nice to have it here.
