Drops given to the one who lands the last hit: KSer paradise

So apparently the drops go to the player who lands the last hit on the target. Meaning I could
a) work my ass off and get monster to low HP only for some random archer to snatch the drops (not the exp) from me
b) be an ass myself and just time my attacks to steal drops from other people.

The solution is simple: if two players are not in a party, the loot goes to the one who dealt the most damage.

I do agree on that ksing grant the kser the loot, to change that it should be for the one who do more dmg at least, or bind the targets to the player that first hit, and to avoid problems on that, the bind should be limited to a certain number of mobs (ex: to the max number of mobs an aoe skill can hit, in case theres no limit on the skill limit it to 5 or 7 monsters).

I wanted to write “first hit” at first, but that’s just as abusable as last hit, imho. You could just go around hitting a mob once, then let the other players do the rest. Limiting to 5-7 mobs as you say would reduce the problem, but to be honest, it still looks quite profitable.

Maybe something along the lines of “first hit, and has to keep hitting it x times per y seconds” to get loot. But this sounds too complicated - top damage gets the loot is way easier to do, imho.

I think the binding method would avoid some problems, but then again, some scrub could try to annoy someone and bind some mobs on the place he is grinding/farming. But to fix that, the binding could be for around 10 seconds, and renew on shooting the mobs again.

Problem is, 10 seconds is too long for a farming session, when you need like 2 autoattacks (=2 seconds) to kill a mob, sometimes even only 1. This would make it work just like simple “first hit” rule. It could work if you set it to like, 3 seconds, so that you have to continuously attack it to keep the “first hit” record up.

I’m still thinking “most damage” would work much better, though. The only disadvantage would be support classes, but those are not made for soloing anyway. I’m saying that as one of those who plays support classes, btw.

Its something to test first to have a solid conclusion, indeed support isnt supposed to be solo, but even so, sometimes the guy only want to farm material and will be a problem with that.
