Hey guys, i’m trying to get infos to build a dragoon 2 later on, i dun like much the overplayed sw3catha3dragoon2 i mean, it’s stronk, in pvp, and can do some dmg pve, but i don’t like catha, i saw in other posts builds like:
sw3>hop2>doppel1>dragon2
sword1>pelta1>hop3>dopel1>dragon2
I want a build focused in pve, highest dps possible as a swords/dragoon2, can u guys explain the pros/cons about the 2 builds ^ and if there’s another comp as good or better, please let me know, thanks.

Peltasta: Guard so you can survive boss attacks with no healer and Swash Buckling so you’d be wanted more in grind parties.
Hoplite 3: Finestra for +3 AOE, +150 crit rate and +30% block rate with shield. Spear Lunge for +50% damage on all pierce attacks for 6 seconds. Spear Throw for mobbing, zero cooldown skill with AOE.
Doppel: Deeds of Valor for +50% physical attack, Cyclone for AOE

Another swordsman with strong DPS would be the Barb3-Doppel3 but I haven’t played Doppel yet.
Thanks for the reply, sound really solid, but every sword i saw cry about knockback and regret not getting s3 sword even more now that c3 will get 5sec more pain barrier, how u handle he knockback in pve with s1 and this build? u think can be handle, or better to get s3 hop2 instead? i don’t mind with taunt, but the eva buff is nice.

I believe a sword 3 hoplite 3 dragoon 2 will easily out dps the meta variation me and @cnatomos have in long boss fights, i am considering resetting to that build with rank reset.
follow the skill build @cnatomos posted, but if you decide to go sword 3 make sure to get pain barrier lvl 15, anything else is entirely your choice.
is better 1 more rank on hop over a dov 5? 50% atq is alot and almost 100% uptime, and about the need of swordc3 aka pain barrier? and thanks for the reply
btw, and why u think with s3 but w/o dov5 this build will outdps your guys build in long term fights? bcuz of the ‘‘less knockback = more dps?’’ or what?

the 50% of DoV, is nice, but not amazing
hoplite 3 gives you spear throw which is amazing even in rank 8, DoV reduces your defense and less knockback WILL out dps my build in long boss fights, you cannot make dps when you are knocked back
lvl 15 pain barrier has 10 second downtime, and with the new attribute coming it will have additional 5 seconds to people who go swordman c3 so its 5 seconds downtime, so its almost 100% uptimed of not being knocked back
now you could just straight up take my meta route if you want and its going to be great
its basically trading DoV for pain barrier lvl 15. Basically pick ur poison.

What about status points invested? Full dex, full str, 3:1 str/dex with around 100 con is fine?
u dun really need con as hop3 u are gonna use a shield and those new shields gives tons of hp alone fulls tr is dead sinze new gems+salus gems buffsd dmg alone so go full dex u ge tmore dps + a lot of survival

Also do I have to go Sword/Sword/Sword/Hop/Hop/Hop/Drag or can I do like Sword/Hop/Hop/Sword/Hop/Sword/Drg/Drg (what do you think would be quickest way to lvl)

seems pretty solid to dps, full dex shoud be optimal dps yes, every high level build geared can make money if u pay attention to market/know where/what to farm =p
When you going sw 3 you Want restrain at 10 for rank 8 content survivability.
I would do this:
pain barrier 15
Restrain 10
Concentrate 10
Gung ho can stay at 3 since it is all attribute
Bash 3 for knock down
Rest can go to double slash for some slash type damage
For hop you got it right.
Btw what about sw3 hop2 doppel dragoon 2?
You sacrifice spear throw for DoV and cyclone. I say not too bad of a trade off, no?
I’m thinking in going with this build, because I enjoy the offtank style.
But, are Pelta’s skills really needed for dungeons? (for someone that wants to charge and laugh at bosses face)
And what do you guys can say about S2>Hop3>Dop1>Drag2?
16 Seconds w/o Pain Barrier, but with DoV and Cyclone.
And about the stats, full DEX means Every *ucking thing into DEX?
tbh in that instance you’re better off doing sw 2 hoplite 3 doppel goon 2
spear throw can do 40k crits with 0 CD easily, this is very strong even at r8. especially with its large aoe
finestra lvl 15 +50 crit rate is nice too, and the 20% vs medium mobs with 1h spear is great, most mobs are medium sized, and if you use geras spear the damage increase is even better.
So, with Hop 3 Cyclone becomes “useless” because we already have a good AoE?

i wouldn’t call it useless, but at r8, a lvl 5 cyclone is not really amazing
cyclone lvl5 is not impressive when compared to dethrone, spear throw, or serpentine/dragontooh. And tbh i wouldn’t invest in its attribute more than lvl 50. its a good skill for sure and a great filler, and might deal good damage with serpentine but at lvl 5 its no more than just additional slash damage to deal with annoying cloth armored mobs.
Forgot about the damage’s type.
Now I just need to decide between Pelta 1 and Sword 3.
Is Full Dex really the best choice for Hoplite>Dragoon?
