DPS ranking on parties

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

I wouldn’t really mind stepping down to support classes, but seeing how my only offensive skill Zaibas outdamages people, I wonder what the ā– ā– ā– ā–  have I been alting for Dps builds, worse case scenario I wouldn’t like to see people shifting the meta again to wugu / fletcher or some hidden op stuff that’s been yet to discover, mind you some elememe actually deals a lot less in runs.

I see some good dps swordies, all hail swordies.

People should just stop getting too serious when it comes to games and a so-called ranking.

I like this feature so I can compare my build(s) to others - but only if I have a DPS oriented one. But do I have to be ashamed as a Sapper doing less damage to a single boss then a QS?
Hell no…Single target DPS is their thing.

Does this rank tell anyone anything about something like AOE damage? No, but it matters as well.

Does it show how much pain the tank had to endure to save sometimes the whole party from death? No.

Does it show the the DPS your support skills actually contributed to raise the overall damage? No.

There are so many other important factors people. So just do think about it too much and do the what you like!

idk why wizards and archers dont want to use their support skills bcuz of the meter.

as a dievmonk im only circle 1 monk which doesnt do as much damage as wiz or archer and i was using my support skills 50% of the time, and i usually rank 1st-2nd.

It just further shows how many god awful players we have that literally picked whatever circle ā€œlooked coolā€ at the time of advancement. I finish 1st when I’m on an meta like my wiz3/ele3 or an off the path build like my archer2/rng1/scout3/rouge1.

Can someone link the rankings of some popular boss fights? :3

Looks like there’s even less reason to stray from the beaten path.

A very stupid system to make noobs feeling like pros when they do not understand class unbalance yet.

Chaplain>Druid2 getting consistent 2s in missions, this feature is very fun.

This mechanic is the best thing that could have happened to missions. There are so much less people afking and more people actually putting an effort into killing the bosses now. It’s so nice.

I have a love/hate relationship with this feature. Some folks ego gets so inflated over this that it spills over into chat. Gross

At times, this is true.
I’ve had some parties which blow through the boss much faster than I remembered before the patch. I can only assume they are trying to put their best foot forward.

On the other hand, I’ve had times where people are like ā€œWait, don’t attack the tree yet.ā€ ā€œReadyā€ ā€œGOā€ so they could measure their e-penis with the DPS meter.
Or an Ele was called out for being Rank 5 on the 1st mission boss, and claimed ā€œI don’t care about helping, I just want the exp.ā€ And proceeded to do even less work on the following 3 bosses compared to his effort on the 1st boss.

So I’ve seen first hand how this can both motivate, and demotivate some players.

This feature is bad if all it measures is DPS. Why not also measure damage received/blocked, heal given, damage inflicted through buffs, and mobs killed? DPS is just one factor that only a few class really measure up.

Since this feature came about, I saw clerics forgo healing at critical times, use only the sparest buffs, and skip over fallen allies (3 seconds resu is thousands of damage lost, and lucky if its an archer or elememe that died). I saw archers lure bosses away from damage circles and give chase to bosses so that melees cannot hit consistently, saw them try to separate mission bosses so one damage circle wont hit two, or abandon the field during large mobs without CC. Wizzies are no better, saw some who kept saving their spells on bosses (no one wanted to be on a cooldown during the boss fight), when before they are very active in doing CC. Some swordies also refuse to tank when they could (just so they wouldnt be number 5), though to be fair, most are already resigned to not being number 1 anyway and have been very helpful lately.

I really don’t like this feature. I think it is very unhelpful and doesn’t promote cooperation.

Mehh, basically you are wanting a full-bonus aftermatch results with many variables that will give Rank B, Rank D, Rank S, etc to everyone

Maybe this is usefull for the EarthTower goers, but the rest of the bosses in ToS are just stupid that it doenst worth the effort

They really dont give any challenge, people were already sleepy to kill they before the patch , its just about time, of course you can do strategy, lock the boss near the wall and have a bunch of synergy but after all your reward will be only a few minutes saved, because a full-messed party also can kill the boss

Yes, there are some stupid guys that forget forget they are participating in a party and do everything to reach the first place, but this is an exception.

Summing up:
Mercenary post was about random guys pressing all the buttons and skills without the slightest interest in anything related to group-synergy and hoping the instance finishes as soon as possible

Mercenary post is still the same after this dps-meter patch

Fking swordsman that purposely position themselves to kick away my fireballs, and retarded ele 3 who used rain on purpose so that I can’t do DPS in mission.

I’m meeting these type of players at much higher frequency now that ranking is a thing.

Yes, I had a sapper detonate traps my double max lvl cure (cure and pardoner scrolled cure) in siaulai.

its either this feature affects you or not. Im sorry, but if you keep whining about it that means a small part of you still wants to see yourself on the top spot. but if you dont really care, as long as the mission/dungeon gets finished quick, who cares really?
