Does IMC still care for what's left of the population?

After 737 hours of play time. I think i am finally at my limit. Im not bashing the game. I LOVE IT. to be honest, im the type of player that leaves a game after a month or less of playing without my friends playing it too. But ive played ToS for about 3months now, even without my friends playing it. i lasted. after all the exploits, bugs, screw ups.

Again, im not bashing this game. I am just really disappointed. This game could have been glorious. it WAS glorious. But the series of issues… man… it can really get to you. I dunno if id quit. maybe i just need some time off this game. But if i do quit, im staying away from IMC published games.

What are you guys even doing there? We barely see you guys interact with your customers. When you do manage to fix something, you just replace 1 screw up with another screw up. or even worse, not even fix anything at all and then add another issue. I mean… wtf IMC? Do you want all your players to quit?

I am aware that you guys are doing something, but you arent doing enough. that’s the problem. I can list down TONS of issues with this game. and i wouldnt even be diving into class issues yet. Just the core gameplay issues are enough to make you quit.

COME ON IMC!! FREAKING TALK TO US! LET US KNOW YOU GOT OUR BACKS CAUSE WE GOT YOURS! Damn it!

I know how you feel. It’s my second most played MMO by now or at least close to it. If they could work out all the core issue, the could be glorious.

that’s a quick summary indeed

Yes I realise it too, recent patches just feels more and more unstable although they added in more content.

From the back of my mind there are some major gameplay issues in which IMC really need to look into it urgently, listed in ranks of priority

1. Instance exceed error.

This is the top priority now. It affects too much of the game to just brush it off. It affects dungeons, missions, saalus, ET, alchemist awakening dungeons, guild hangouts, guild mage tower missions. Basically almost everything that needs a party apart from quests and matchmaking mission/dungeons are affected.

There is only so much your player base can take, IMC I beseech you do something about it. On average a player plays around 3-4 hours daily. Players are struggling just to even get into a dungeon/mission, spamming spacebar for 1-2 hrs at the dg entrance. This is taking its toll on the player base. Players are tired, and they will just drop the game if it doesn’t even allow them to party up to do their dailies.

2. The cut scene party bug.

This has been around since the beginning of July. It is high time to take another look at this as it, together with the instance exceed problem, totally eliminates party play from the game. This is supposed to be an MMORPG, not an RPG with a glorified chat box.

The rest can put as mid/low priority for now. Please just solve these 2. On the positive note… Good job on the events, although they are simple but I love it.

On one hand, I do agree that bugs needs to be fix. However, on the other, I feel like the population is fine the way they are right now. I really don’t want TOS to have a 50k subscriber on at all times. That is going to be a nightmare.

Nothing fine here. The game was released two month ago. That is called fail, not fine. Old MMO games have more players than ToS, modern MMO have much more players than ToS. Less players - less money income for developers and no more updates.

You mean 11,133…

Just from the average player statistics alone, tos has lost more than half of its playerbase in 3months

I have to disagree with you @dect22inj. When early start first begin, you can barely finish a single quest because there were too many people playing. Right now on my server, there are still farming spots open. Mission and Dungeon queue doesn’t take that long to pop. And 230+ parties are plenty without competition over grinding spots. The GvsG and Arena are super active too. Thus, I personally don’t want our population to grow to a size that we can’t handle.

This is the same thing on FF14. There are servers with 5000+ players on them and you can barely find a FC/personal house to purchase. And then, there are servers (the one I was on) that had 1000 players and the community really thrived and you get to enjoy ALL the content.

Thus, from personal experiences, I am against big population per server. It doesn’t make a game better. It makes a game worse.

There really isn’t much in the shop for a whale to spend on in this game, I think

You know that 7k still put them in top 100 games being played on Steam?

Glad you found your new fav game. As for me, i guess this stagnation is not fun at all. Every game have its own life cycle, some games lives for decades, some die in a year, some are born dead. And not every player thinks that choosing a new MMO game every year is an option.

It means nothing because this is steam statistic and i cant even imagine how you can compare GTA5 and ToS. I.e 6,438 players are playing Age of Empires 2. What does it means? Its not even MMO. 99% of all MMORPG and their servers for different countries are not represented at Steam.

The point is that there’s other games with less players out there.

And frankly, you going around saying IT’S DYING/IT’S BAD isn’t helping it.
If you don’t like the game, then I question why are you still here.
If you do like the game, you can start by actually stop being so negative about things. I’m not saying you must speak of flowers and sunshines only, just that if your thought won’t lead to improving the game, then you should consider not speaking it out loud.

Come to Overwatch, a new update with buffs, nerfs and changes every week

Not only that, they are hearing the community like GODS

Yep, it is the only game I am playing right now so it is currently my favorite. And I am having a heck of a lot of fun with ToS, so that is all that’s matter to me.

I also don’t agree with your argument. Online gaming has changed. We DEFINITELY have more options now. This isn’t back in the old days where all you had were Ultima Online, Diablo II, and Ragnarok Online to choose from.

If you are not having fun with a game, such as ToS, then don’t play it. Why torture yourself? Go play something you enjoy. However, if you are trying to “find” a game as your long term partner to fill your emotional void, then please, do us all a favor and put your keyboard down. It is time for a real self evaluation.

A MMO is not your spouse. A MMO is not your family. A MMO is not your friend. You are not the CEO of the MMO company. You are not the employee of the MMO company. For that matter, you don’t even own stocks of that MMO company. So why should you care if it sink or live tomorrow or the next day?

As for me, if ToS gets shut down tomorrow, then fine. I’ll just play another game to entertain my free time. There are a handful to games to choose from. (Herowarz comes to mind, though Ethan and Tommy are not playable yet.) Thus, I don’t care what the population or the statistics on Steam is. I play this game for fun, not to worry about how great it will do in the future.
