They just has to STOP this “follow the arrow, collect stuff, kill boss and done” quests. Oh, the statues. It was fun back then, but makes things too easy. Just increase their cost at x10000, for high level players shouldn’t be a problem and must be way easier to reach maps too far. Low level players should walk they’re way up to a map in order to do something, i guess. And stop this auto teleport while completing quests, ITS MAKING THINGS TOO EASY!!11!!!1!!11!!
Because walking is…hard? Mind blown.
Not on ToS. You take 2 min to reach a map or something for a quest, why the teleport?
Tibia doesn’t have (correct me if i’m wrong) a teleporting system, you just have to walk all your way through cities. And people like it. ~ Edit
And that’s my humble opinion.
They like…to walk? Ok never mind, well you can still walk in ToS.
It’s not like if you refuse to use the teleport function someone will rush into your house and arrest you for going against the developers.
No, my point is that teleport makes things too easy, that’s it. But if you like it, just ignore my post. hm
i actually love the auto teleport
but i dont like the linear feel: after i finish the quests in this area, all i can do is move to the next area to find quests.
if i don’t do quests, i have to spend hours on grinding in the same spot just to make up the exp
Oh don’t mind me, I was just trying to find some logic in your post but it seems there is none.
I’m not against teleport spots (the statues), but i what i really disliked was the complete quest teleport. Completed a quest? Just press backspace and you will be in front of the npc to deliver it! This is so lazy that makes me sick -.-.

Yeah, I don’t think they will change the linear quest gameplay into a completely different free exploration game… …but it doesn’t mean we have to like it

-
That being said, I think we can still talk about and add some constructive criticism…
-
Of course we can grind without doing quests, but there’s no advantage in doing that right now until lvl50+…
-
The main problem I have (and probably some others too) is that everyone starts at the same “home-town”, no matter which class you play. But they might change it later, because it’s still a Beta: and since we can’t get past most lv160 maps at the beginning, some transport-service could bring us from Klaipeda to other locations like swordsman-town, cleric-town, etc…
btw, liking posts works for me again, thanks IMC!
yes they can do 4 starting points but then yo will see only one classe for the first 20-50 lvls.
in ro not all starting point was as good.in wow all starting points was and even if not the was so far from one another.
its a game that have 600 lvls so starting point so from 1-100 or so.
you can add some constructive criticism will not make it open world , like you did say.
so if you understand that this will never be an open world game like ro,wow,ff14 but more like diablo but dont like it, then why are you here?i am sorry if it sound rude but it is what it is,
I don’t think this is necessary, in fact very few games does like this (the only one that comes to mind is RO) I don’t mind having the same starting point, as long after the few introductory events, you can go anywhere. The issue is not about how many starting points we have, but how many options we have AFTER we start. The game would be the same thing if we had different start points that in the end all converge to the same point.
My opinion on this:
To perserve the linearity of the game to prevent players being confused where to go next, while also giving a sense of freedom and exploration to players, - Yes, you read that right, people easily become lost on where to grind, where to level, etc., when there’s little to no pointer at all, even though what they are searching is just in the next map. Believe it or not, plenty of players already suffered this in ToS - IMC could, if they’re willing, continue and put more resource to develop the main quest.
How? If they can give player a choice to choose the reward of the quest, then they should also be able to give the player a choice to choose the direction where the main quest will lead to, be it lore wise or location/map wise. It’s not an easy task, I know, since it involves messing with the story and lore, and quite possibly the map layout too, but it will also give more depth to the game while also still guide players on where to do their things (Grind, Questing, Farming, etc.)
I’m 51 now and i’m sure i wont reach 100. Its not the grinding, its the same map layout/boss/quest intervals.
I dont really think this game is too linear (unless if you’re talking about the lore aka story/main quest) I can still search for hidden quest, hidden bosses, hidden collectives, background lore (side quest, hidden lore on background),exploration, achievements (they need more of this though), read interesting stuff (not quest related), dungeoning, world boss hunting, etc. At least I still have stuff to do other than doing main quest or grinding.
On the topic of linearity… today I was sitting in Ramstis Ridge and had someone ask me how to get to Rukus Plateau. I pointed right and said “That way 4 maps”. He then said thanks and went on his way, and I died a little inside.
This.
This so much, I’ve been trying to explain it to people but they barely played the first 50 levels of the game and are calling it way too linear and wont hear otherwise.
People nowadays don’t even care about exploring in games anymore. They will just ask people “where is chest?” “where is hidden quest?”, “which place to level next?”. Stuff like that, why not just go and explore 1st and explore the world and find out the mystery of the game.
it doesn’t really impact your fun if people aren’t playing the way you like to.
Linear or not, if people think that this game is a balance of both quest and grind, they may be sorely mistaken. The way I see it, this is a grinding game, and quests serve only as a mean to break the linearity on some occasions.
At this point in time, surely we are aware that both mob kill EXP and EXP cards have been buffed significantly for CBT purposes. Will the rate stay the same during OBT? Only time will tell, but my guess will be no, they will most likely be adjusted back to the normal ratio.
What it will potentially mean is that questing and using the resulting EXP cards as a main source to level will fade away, and grinding will probably be the only way to level.
here is a game, get the full map an draw a line connecting each map per lvl 1-2-3…(you can count towns as whatever #)
and every time the line goes away from main quest lineal path I will kick you in the [CENSORED]
come on, try it if you dare…
