Do you think IMC will remove link resistant mobs?

Since some time ago after reaching rank 8 maps I’ve bacome really frustated at how useless I’ve become in some scenarios. Why make something like this? It’s 3 whole ranks that seems wasted, because I always want to use it and I think it is fair, because I don’t see any “circling resist” or even any resistance to skills that make them absolutely useless, argh this is shi*

Ah don’t worry, nowhere does it say in hunter skills that it doesn’t work on boss monsters, so enjoy being useless in certain scenarios, you’ll fit in others. Don’t expect to be usefull in all of them, just bring a party.

Not a chance.
It is part of IMC’s policy to IMC you after all. Link resistant mobs IMC’ed all wizard builds containing linker. We can expect more link resistant mobs in the future, with everything link resistant by R10, if TOS is still alive by then.

And with rank resets finally here, all the more reason to IMC the old meta to hell.

The worst part is… I can actually see it happening .-.

It was already bad enought to do one damage to mobs even being full int…

aoe def ratio mobs could make falc 1 less useful than falc 3 in the future too. some mobs are immune to fire. some mobs resist 25% of physical damage. dark type mobs resist darkness by 25% now. ect.

as long as linker can still provide a use in some situations it will, for some, be worth having.

Yeah… Well I understand, still mad though.

Also, how many Matk do I need to damage the mages in the 290 dungeon? I have 1525 matk and around 600 elemental damage and still doing 1 dmg.

I decided to reset my wizard to be more useful on R8 scenario, resetted from Chrono 3 to Linker 2 -> Kino…after stepping a few maps further in the content I was like:

me: Casts JP
mob: resist
me: Oh.

ouch. well i’m having a hard time deciding if I should reset my pyro chrono to a pyro linker… haste is the best spell ever and pass is great too but linker does more dps if you can link stuff.

I was a Pyro Chrono too, 3 ranks on both.

I decided to reset due to the kToS changes and I also wanted to make a more offensive Pyro build.

Yeah I can kill really fast if I can link them… We should be picky on IMC so they remove those link resistant mobs

Overall linker is pretty good with pyro, if I can combo 4 fireballs with link I can do almost 2kk of dmg pretty fastly, but it’s not easy to make this combo fit, maybe with an falcooner 3 it will help.

Simply put, linker is too strong.

Just wanted to mention… Circling can be resisted by mobs. There’s no immunity like some mobs to links, but it’s a debuff so it gets resisted at times

No, it’s ok.  

No, because this is just another intended thing for them to be extremely lazy in their game design. They did it with Paladin’s conversion making every mob a mini-boss type so you couldn’t convert them. Who ever is on the balance team over there is a really big fan of making things useless when ever they feel like something is too strong. Soon there’s going to be mobs that pierce immunities and defense.

sucks that their way of balancing seems to be to make entire classes completely situationally useless. besides, links are useless in most bosses anyways asides from removing traps and trash mobs.

Linker should be strong in what it does imo. it has zero attacks minus link break with attribute, which is awful. I eventually waited for a friend to catch up so I could progress, but leveling like 177 levels as a linkchrono, esp before pardoners existed was something else. i found it fun, but mostly because of link+energy bolt. which was hilariously slow and clumsy, but satisfying after jumping around for auto for like 90 years to tick off 1/8th of an enemy’s hp. They also nerfed it cd wise so that parties always kill mobs faster than you can consistently link. ofc, mitigated at higher levels, but then you get the link resistant mobs. ???

Most people prefer cryo outside of like, alemeth parties from what i’ve seen. could be wrong. I do agree that linker is oversaturated because it’s so versatile, but I just don’t think that should be solved by making it worthless, esp on one of the main grind maps. If their concern is that people are taking it over Thaum, they should revamp that class to be more tempting, at least over just lazily slapping 100% link resistance on mobs.

Even if a monster / boss is link immune, what does happen when you JP =>HK the fireballs and make the monsters walk inside?

Nothing just the normal fireballs hits.

IMC has no idea of moderation when it comes to balance. It’s always all or nothing. Linkers being too powerful in some scenarios and absolutely worthless in others is a good example. “XX is too powerful in some scenarios and absolutely worthless in others” is a running theme with this game, really.

No, IMC have only two ways of balance things: making stupidly op like ausrine or r7, the second option is making things useless. Probably people say link is to op but instead of balance it, nerf it a little, they just making link useless.

I think link resist is okay, I’m a Pyro-Linker and I still can kill them in few cycles of kiting.
I enjoy being great and Convenient with linker, but the link-resist monster really not that common, it is like 0-1 in each map start from Maven Abbey(275) until Mishekan Forest(327), and it doesn’t stop me solo finished most quests.

What troublesome me the most is the super high MDEF, if they are link-able I still can kill them with the Element Damage slowly, with Agny I can reach up 1k per tick, the more linked the more multiplication of that. However, MDEF + Link Resist I will just give up like the Vikas Mage in 290 Dungeon.

Together with Class Optimization Issue, I really hope IMC reduce all Skill Base Damage and Increase 1INT=2Matk, the transition will help the attack power bind more on character and not class/skill dmg, so it help to keep lower rank more relevant in end content.
