Greetings, Saviors!
Now that Klaipeda has become the starting city for all characters and home of the popular Mercenary Post, many have come to settle in the new bustling hub.
Klaipeda’s evolution is far from over, however. The devs are planning a large-scale renovation of the city that promises to turn the old town into a wider, more welcoming home for all adventurers.
We sat down with Tree of Savior’s head of development (HOD), who’s in charge of planning the renovation, and our art director Maggi, responsible for designing the city’s revamped façade, to find out more about Klaipeda’s new face.

So many houses, only 3 can be entered(HL/Pyro/Bok masters), lol.
We felt that, from the perspective of a new player coming into TOS and creating their character, starting in Orsha was unnecessarily confusing, as it made it difficult for the player to know what scenarios to expect and how to carry on playing the game.
What? First Orsha quest arc was an obvious standalone arc that shows high ranked demon lords are doing ‘something’ in the background.
Klaipedia quest line took until Tenet Church before anything made sense.
Altho the rest of the Orsha quest line after the ‘MissingBishop’ made little sense/connection in the overall plot of the story.
The dev writers really had it hard writing themselves to a corner, making the players ‘Savior’/‘Revelators’ as ‘the chosen one’(many lol) from the start, instead of a regular person/adventurer that stumbled on the demon outbreak crisis after the events of Medzio Diena.
Is there a chance for the story to be slightly rewritten with this change? I also liked Orsha plot a lot better than Klaipeda. I’m sad that it seems to be confirmed Orsha will no longer be an option for new characters.
I also hope Mercenary Post or some of the other NPC will eventually be added in other cities (Fedimian/Orsha); so that players have the option to “reside” in a more quiet and calm environment.
Sad they have a demon living in klaipeda
Love the idea of a revamp.
Assuming the Goddess Statue is in the middle or similar place,if I could give any suggestion it’d be to widen the restricted area of shops around the statue.Currently,if you warp back to Klaipeda in any of the busy channels [typically 1 or 2] you are greeted with a ton of shops as close to the statue as possible. It feels quite suffocating. On the other hand, trying to warp from those spots is even worse,as you can accidentally click a shop instead of the statue,or have the warp cancelled unintentionally.
I think for both convenience and a nicer experience, the range you can set up shops needs to be farther from the statues.
Please keep (comfy) Orsha.
It has a nicer layout than Klaipeda, organically better (like the stair)
Orsha is love. Orsha is life.
The proposed 3rd floor layout at Klaipeda erases the town´s attitude (it is a typical problem when doing additions over previous work). You can grab lots of references from real old fortress towns. In your proposal vendor/shops are too far away from each other, irl they tend to appear at the sides of certain streets over traffic paths, never as a wide perimeter. There is a concept in commercial real estate design that you have anchor stores and create a traffic path between, so all places along it are visited.
Maybe you could force spawn areas at the entrance/gates of towns, and play with it too. Gates designs seem awesome. Also, you could add some chatter/crowd sound effects in the other sound channel.
Also, at Klaipeda: what will happen to the appraiser quest princess guy npc? Will he drown?
