My primary reservation is the monthly resetting. It would be better to have a monthly section, and an all time ranking. This would provide a sense of permanent accomplishment, while also allowing the short term monthly ranking to be a source of fun. Player’s who spend time shouldn’t have their progress wiped every month, and even with the permanent ranking a dedicated player can catch up.
These are welcome changes overall, and I hope to see further expansion of the system as new content is added.

Hahaha…
What about compensation / reward for top Adventurers on all iToS servers? I hardly can imaginge how much efforts and time they’ve spent to climb to the top of that ranking. Im playing from the start, has maximum possible Team Level, 30 chars, but my highest rank in Adv is around 700. IMC, I hope you won’t spit on the most hardcore part of your community, on the Adventurers, who actually play your game to the maximum possible extent.
At least give these people permanent title with some nice design (like new TBL titles having shiny frames).
I like what I see…
now impress me with what I will see next
EDIT: What is Life
“if we find that there are any tricks or any harmful ways to achieve those goals beyond honest competition, then we will have to revise the content accordingly.”
Good.
Just me, but it feels like rank reset should be on th monthly journal thing not on permanent.
Since the new adventuring journal revamp ties in with “raising” classes and such, why not tie in character lodge too as part of the monthly rewards for participation?
For example, monthly rewards for the top % can be character titles or some armband etc. Players who participate in upping their adventuring point rankings (after monthly resets) above a certain threshold will be rewarded with some furniture to beautify their character lodges. Stuff like beds, tables, wall paintings etc.
With this character lodges can be transformed into a pseudo~housing system for the game, where players can use the adventuring journal to get “adventuring exclusives”, and hopefully in future more quests can be tied in to get more of such items. Once the devs want to set up lifestyle mechanics like partying or gathering in houses, they just need to redirect players to their own lodges.
Yeah, add some tables in the lodge plz. So I can flip them everytime IMC screws us :x
If we post our suggestion here could it be concidered/taken?. I hope this Dev Interview post isn’t just a thing to inform us what would/could we have next, but we couldn’t do anything if there’s something wrong there.
This is total waste of time IMO, the lucrative life of us just doing our dailies, events, farming and many many more. this is really not a good idea.
This is a good idea.
Back in the olden days adventure journal competition was actually a thing. There was a good chunk of people aiming for the top ranks. It’s not something everyone participates in, but that’s ok, it’s something that some people enjoyed.
Once the numbers got incredibly high the number of people competing decreased and decreased until competition was non-existent.
Having a monthly version is a good way to make it an ongoing activity for the people that enjoy it. Definitely nothing wrong with more activities for the different interests that people have.
Though some classes may be more popular, every class has its own value in Tree of Savior.
1st of April is long over. Or do the developers really think that Classes with bad damage and bad support skills have any value? What can they do? Look nice as statues in the towns? Meta proves you wrong…
The balance they talked about is still months-year away if they continue to adjust with a feather duster instead of a wrench. The only good adjustments happened around the balance patch, and there are still many Classes to recieve the value that they rightfully deserve.
Instead of fixing balance problems, they create a system where every Class gets you 10 rubber points. Sure, if that’s the value a Class has for aside from being not viable for the game aspects or endgame content, the game is indeed doomed.
P.S.: I find it hilarious that they even release such developer interviews at all. Do they not realize that their statements and reality are two different kind of shoes?
Rather than answering that question myself, I would like to ask the players. I want to know how they felt about the Adventure Journal so far, and what they would like it to become in the future. We’ll always need to take into account the player’s vision of the Journal in our plans, so any feedback is more than welcome.
Sure, here’s my feedback:
Your achievement collection, aka as Adventurers Journal has no value in this game. There are so many issues with the client, the balance and the content handling that it surprises me how these changes can get greenlit&have priority over changes that would actually keep the people playing the game instead of quitting.
Revising old (especially collections, gimmicks, monster A.I., pet A.I.) and introducing new systems that would greatly enhance the current content would be way better way to keep people playing, aside from fixing the stuff that is long due (bugs, Class balance, skill balance).
Yet a system is revised that’s practically just rewarding the people to waste their time (I laughed when I read that comment on the 8 unique Classes per base Class, there will surely be people crazy enough to do this now) while achieving nothing at all.
In fact, that’s even more boring than watching the character fish for hours in Klaipeda.
MMORPGs are already a waste of time, but that’s even worse; it’s basically asking the players to waste their time after spending e.g. TP for a Token with achievement hunting because there is nothing else to do. “Want a Rank reset voucher?Sure, gotta waste X hours on achievement hunting xyz first” GG
Good thing I’m out from Saturday on for a few months, it’s too frustrating to watch this anymore
Is this something in the works for the future, or something we can expect in the coming few weeks?
I bet it will be out on the next patch.
Can you tell us how much points we will need to reach Max levels in growth and adventure?
Now we know that you need 5 600 for lv13 in growth, what about lv17?
How about AFK hunting, will it work in this Adventure Journal?. Because it said we can obtain points from Monster Kills.
I hope it’s not though.
Hopefully variation of mob killed counts for way more than amount of mob killed…
like kill a popolion > a kepa, > a hannami >>>
counts as more than just mindlessly killing 1000 kepas
So how many points you need for LV17 in Growth ladder?
Can anyone check on KToS plz? D:
