Despite all the drama from the recent bug, ToS actually GAINED players this month

3k is average in most mmo that is not from big AAA companies.

8k playerbase is very very healthy for a " niche " game like ToS.

First one is: "Last 30 Days"
Next is: ā€œMay 2017ā€ that usually means the month of May.

The reason they are different is:

The last 30 days would be from 7 May 2017 to 6 June 2017.

May would be from 1 May 2017 to 31 May 2017.

Notice they overlap by 24 days at the moment. Meaning that about 80% of those players, so about 1200. Of those about 2/3 have left. Meaning that we lost 800 of that. So not quite 1200 like I said, but closer to 800.

That’s a pretty sizable drop considering it’s about 20%, and this month is just starting…

From the numbers up to now, we can expect to get back to around 3500 again like the game has been hovering at once the losses equaled new subscriptions, unless a lot more leave for some ā€œunknownā€ reason.

But that’s not how it works… I’ve been following steamcharts for months now.

When the month changes the last 30days starts from zero using the previous month as a base. It’s a bit misleading but that’s how it works.

You can also count this yourself. Look at the number of Avg. Players on top of each other. Gain is the exact amount of players gained from or lost from the segment below.

Thanks for pointing that out. It is indeed very misleading. ā€œThe Last 30 Daysā€ should instead read June 2017.

Most seem to think that people who are very vocal about the way the game is handled hate the game, but it’s quite the opposite. We want the game to do well, and desperately want to save the game from some very bad management decisions so it doesn’t die.

I am glad to see more coming back, as I even had a friend join again. Though, I really feel bad that he comes back in the middle of this shitstorm.

edit: ffxiv is ā– ā– ā– ā–  compared to tos

FFXIV have nonsteam client…invalid comparison  Friendly reminder that FFXIV isn’t steam-only and steamcharts only shows Steam players.

Can you stop posting on the forum already since you’ve quit? you are mentally unstable

Jynxie got triggered for being called a dpk troll?

Concurrent Users is not an accurate representation of the total player base, I really can’t understand why it’s posted continuously, it’s a useful statistic, but it’s misleading saying that it’s the player count.

The Players in the last 2 weeks number is a better indication of total player base, especially when adjusted for more inactive players, we can really get a fairly accurate number of the active player count.

He talks rubbish for the last couple of days. He only criticized for the sake of hate instead of this game getting better. He is just a troll who is riding with hate train. Not only that he branded anyone being whiteknights who are against on his trolling. Maybe youre like him.

And you talked rubbish on DPK loot since last year, calling this company garbage etc. Maybe youre like him.

I only called IMC rubbish when they implemented Leticia cubes. I hate % based loot system but i dont recall calling IMC rubbish because of that.

I think maybe many peoples in Kirito-mode too much and they failed to see the peoples in this game actually are very good (you need to explore this but not read in forum), I was once too stucked in few of my real friend gamer too long, until they all left and I also stopped few months.

But then after I came back, and started to talk to random players and joined a guild, I changed my perspective and became 1 of the sustain player of this game. I really think this game really have the peoples of quality and social perspective that was once my best experience in RO.

If you aiming for best control, most engaging combat system, best competitive, best graphic, best developer, best publisher certainly this game is not for you.

Every game has flaw, this world is flaw too, but we just to filter what doesn’t enjoy for us and we should only explore and focus what really we enjoy for.

God forbid people playing more than one game, It must be rough if Tree of Savior is the only game you have access too.

But for real; Anyone with some non-bias common sense would understand that games like Wow, Gw2, FFXIV ect. are on a tier of their own, sure you may not like some of them but they are FAR from bad games. If Final Fantasy 14 is bad, what the flying **** is Tree of Savior?

Note to readers: I love tree of savior :relaxed:

Anyways, this game will continue to grow slowly, It’s done nothing but improve quite a bit the past few months.

ToS got players back because of the balance update and the resets, but you can see that a few are already leaving. I know some of my friends left thanks to the dpk bug. I’m still playing, but I feel less like playing than before.

As @Remhad said.
Tos players come back because of the event.
And if IMC wants to keep players, they must be more smart like other companies.

IMC can’t understand that we aren’t like Korean players. We can’t stand 24/24h behind the game.
It’s not like we don’t want to, it’s like most of us have a job.
Other games (bad or not) are more friendly user.

Why TOS already lost a few players?

  1. shitty DPK
  2. seems like IMC is too good giving present like Santa Claus.

On point 2: most of player are really mad and crying and going crazy. Me, no.
I really don’t care if was Christmas for them. I’m just explain to IMC how most of player feels about this.
Because most of them do:"omg stupid IMC I’ll quit the game!!11!!1

I’m not here to do a war which game is better, but IMC must know what to do for keep players.
And only players know what is better for keep them playing the game.

I’m playing TOS since release. I really love this game, but, since they have worked on DPK I’ve lost any kind of interest to do something, to stay online more than usual.
When they implemented HG I was online all the free time what I had.
Now, I do my runs of dungeons, Saalus and ET and logout.

When other games will come out, bad or good (it’s like about personal opinion), I will check those games.
And if they are more user friendly than TOS, I will quit TOS once for all.
Like me, other player will do.

You can tell me ā€œgo onā€. Ok. I can understand.
But don’t complaying when on queue for dungeons you will be the only one.

Before 16th May, Fedimian was like a Desert in dungeons. Sometimes I had to wait like 2hrs to do dungeons or Siaulai.

Common sense seems to elude some people @Valkoria they claim FFXIV is s^hit, but FFXIV is probably the second largest P2P game. They follow to compare it to F2P that cant hack it as P2P. As you stated those games are on a whole different level
