Despite all the drama from the recent bug, ToS actually GAINED players this month

A while back during the sorien event, players kept their practoniums after exploiting them. Some people got cubes back, most of the people I knew that abused it kept their practoniums. Some even received a cube back in compensation because they stashed their practs in Team Storage.

Well, I think that we’re all gluttons for disrespect and dishonesty. People continue to protect the integrity of the game with flawed, broken logic. The best way a consumer can speak is with their wallet. Furthermore, so long as people play this game it will prolong its longevity. Crush it by properly quitting. Most people wont because of an investment they’ve made that they’re unwilling to publicize. Whether financial or merely time.

At the end of the day, it’s hard to quit anything you’ve made any form of investment into.
Hence, here we are: a company that had every right to perform a rollback due to an unfortunate incident with a bug instead compensated people who played their game while simultaneously punishing genuine players for their oversight (test realms exist for a reason).

Lack of funding is not an excuse. Our TP cost is nearly 300% cost the next country and with our money combined we couldn’t get answers. People will continue to invest because of how fickle the consumers are today. In another time, another age, people would have dropped the game instantly and the company would have suffered.

So in regards to the supposed toxicity that another poster mentioned here, why do you think it exists? People will always complain. Sure, I get that, but why do you think it’s gotten to this point. Every other thread is chastising the companies negligence for a reason.

We can go back to the inception of the game and see that VGA issues are prevalent. Earth Tower is a race against VGA disconnects. Anvil bugs from way back when went unpunished. PvP exploiters for Practonium went unpunished. Players who openly used hook64 remained unpunished. Groups, statics, guilds of players who openly use RMT and bots went and continue to go unpunished.

DPK is just another straw on the camels back.
Much like everything else I’ve mentioned.
To add insult to injury, players got to keep their items (for the most part) that came from the “exploit” and were also compensated nicely while players who just… weren’t on or didn’t have the bug were given a buncha tomes.

In all fairness, this is a PR shitfest.

Why didn’t they rollback the server? It affected WAY too many people.
What a â– â– â– â–  show.

Yes, the way they handled this left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth except the token/Letitia cube receivers, however the numbers tell a different story. They’re actually going up.

So what does this say to IMC? They can screw up their PR or handling or treatment of their playerbase and it won’t matter, because at the end of the day people are still going to play regardless. The only way to change their way of thinking, is to walk away from this game. Good luck trying to convince people to do that

When they screw up then toss enough resets and XP tomes at everyone’s account to hammer out a Lv 300 in a day. People are probably going to login to use it.

I say lets see how it goes at the end of the month. It gained players from the previous reset event and people regaining a renewed interest in the game. If you think this isn’t going to blow up and cost them players you haven’t been paying attention to the history of this game.

And don’t forget the PoE expansion… But honestly after I get bored of those… It’s back here again.

On the flipside though, they introduced things to do in the game, making people occupied enough to stay:

  1. HG
  2. Allow people to test/correct their builds to enable them to do ET, and revamped Lolo/Solmiki gear to be worth grinding for.

That will give people something to do for a while

That’s what I expect.

It was something necessary for them and well executed – to some extent – especially since they revamped everything about their game.

I would like them to give us King of the Tower event. Again. And perhaps address the disconnect issues with ET.

If TOS/IMC don’t give me a good reason to still play over here, I have friends that will play those games.
And you know: friends > games.

I wouldn’t count on Destiny 2 to do much.

Overwatch and CS both released major new updates/expansions/missions on the SAME day, and our population was completely untouched. The FPS market doesn’t affect tos logins. I was concerned that it would, but, with the 2 biggest PC fps titles not even scratching us, I think it’s safe to write off all fps as irrelevant to the tos base.

Things are looking reasonably good right now. They’ll probably start a hype machine up for pvp changes and pvp rebalancing next, alongside our klaipeda updates, and then we’ll be within 2-3 months of an R9 release which they can start hyping. The roadmap is very strong for the continued strength of the population.

The forum in this case is not an accurate representation of the general populations feelings, whether the players agree or disagree this isn’t enough of a problem to drastically affect the player base. The improvements TOS has been getting, and the general upwards trend in content despite setbacks like this continues to keep players playing. There are very real improvements being made to the game, and content is moving at a faster pace. IMC itself is growing/has grown their team and making progress on their own problems too which just further encourages players. There’s still major improvements to be made, but good content was rewarded with a population increase.

O well, I’m a Overwatch player too.
Since I’m playing Overwatch, FF14 and TOS, I have to make room for Destiny because I will play it with friends.
So, for me, Tos has hours counted, and I think most of TOS players think the same since FF14 Stormblood is coming.

Ehi, I really love TOS, but not this.

Because the general population look at the behaviour of the forums and say “Hahaha no thanks, let’s not post there…”

Unfortunately I think you’re right. Let’s have some hope for things changing relatively soon.

Not sure about this.
FF14 is a standart wow clone mmo.

And i guess i´m not the only one who dont like this kind of mmo at all.

We’ll see.

If isn’t for FF14 people will quit for those mistake that IMC is doing.
And maybe is tired…
This is not the first time.

I remmeber the same happening to Neverwinter Online, community and moderators tried to hide all the exploits and bad repute.

Didn’t worked, a paralel site was created und used to discover and inform about bugs and talk freely.
NWO never recovered.
