DEATH to all MMO's

so, when ToS is entering its Open Beta phase (maybe in 3 to 6 months from now) do you think all other games out there will die/no one will playing them? including those games labeled as sandbox/blackbox/jukebox/hitlerbox/any crapbox?

What are you even saying

do you still remember back in 2002/2003 when you entering a gaming center and all of them is playing RO?

but this time… a whole world?

I think he wants to know if we believe that EVERY SINGLE MMO PLAYER will join into Tree of Savior, never to turn back thus leading to the “death” of every other MMO out there. Except for TOS.
In other words: He is fantasizing and is lost in some wierd fantasy of his.

This will never happen ever…
You see the number of people that grew up on WOW compared to RO is HUGE.
People nowdays are used to 3D 3rd person MMOs not 2D sprite based isometric view MMOs. Mostly because the market is flooooded with WoW clones. And the only decent RO clone I can think of that was “good” was basically Trickster online right? If the success of LOL, Dota 2, PoE, Diablo 3 might lure in the isometric combat crowd it remains to be seen.

So while Tree of Savior will be played by us the old RO guard and certainly new people that will come for the same reasons we went to RO back in the day (cute anime graphics, combat system, social feel) most will by a huge majority stay in games such as FFXIV or WoW or Tera or whatever is around the corner as the next big blockbuster wow killer whatever MMO. Were you do that trinity of DPS/Tank/Healer and run instanced raids.

Like my FFXIV guild mates right now. Out of a good 40ish only like 4 want to try TOS and mostly because they played RO. The vast majority of them aren’t interested at all because they see “clunky slow combat”, “silly old graphics” and so on…

ToS is very much a niche game. If that niche will translate to mainstream remains to be seen. For example while ToS is INCREDIBLY popular on 4chan’s /v/ and /vg/ board. Reddit (a younger more casual crowd of people) aren’t too interested in it outside of the TOS subreddit. ToS news never spread to r/games r/pcmasterrace /rpcgaming and so on…

A simple no from me. No matter how good we think ToS is, the game hasn’t even entered an open beta phase yet. We cannot judge it and make reviews now. I’m sure there will be a lot of people with high expectations of this game that eventually quit the game because of some reasons. Besides that, there are also some people who think that ToS visual is sucks because it is simply not 3d. There are still people out there who judge a game based from its 2d or 2.5d or 3d graphics. If they prefer 3d video games, then ToS is out from their playlist.

I firmly believe that not only the 7 million or so WoW players, but the millions of players in other mmos as well WILL in fact move to tree of savior when it gets released. this is by far the most hyped game in the 21st century. at this point many other games would have ceased to exist or were perhaps scrapped entirely. this is a revolutionary breakthrough in online gaming that will change the way we see things. prepare yourself for the biggest gaming community the world has ever seen!!

outside of this community, ToS is considered to be a weeb game of old RO players longing for nostalgia.

so the max number of user ill asume is the same in their FB followers, hence less than 50k players tops. in 1 year ToS might even combine servers as most of people will abanddon it for the next popular mmo.

infact many of you might moveback to Ragnarok1.2 if Gravity upgrades its graphic to ToS level.

Also, as many of you dont want to hear, many of you will be disappointed that ToS will not be RO once they start playing the game.

Looking on Youtube, games like Back Desert get a lot more views and hype from the mass than ToS. But when we talk about emotion investment from players, I think ToS tops them all. Too much love from fans

Excuse me but according to 90% of media outlets and gaming forums, Five Night’s at Freddy’s 4 was the most hyped game of 2015.

Of course it’s not to you, but in the same way, ToS is not the most anticipated game for >98% of gamers.

you havent tried full RTS mmorpg, that is Granado Espada, IMC games first game. it all comes down to micro control of your 3 characters.

the game lets you collect up to 70+ (and counting) characters with each unique abilities. depending on the quest you can switch characters in the barracks to adjust to the mission.

However due to its RTS nature the game is boring as you can literally just press space bar and your characters will auto attack and auto heal themselves. but dont rely on this on boss battles.

Camera is in free rotation that follows the team leader of among your 3 characters.

Also as with any old mmorpg trying to survive its now pay2win.

I do not know what makes you think ToS will make most players abandon their games to come and play this.

With that said, ToS will have its strong following from old school RO fans and new players longing for something different in this era of WoW clones and mediocre action-based combat MMOs. RO was pretty popular and I think ToS can enjoy the same success.

The only game that could do what you describe is a new MMO from Blizzard to replace WoW. :stuck_out_tongue:
