Dear IMC, help useless INT attribute. Make INT great. ´¬´

Archers and swordsman has an option since strength is a joke and that is dex+transcend. You get evasion, accuracy, crit rate, yada yada. Int and str does nothing though and can easily be achievable through gears.

You need to sacrifice your defensive capabilities for such small returns which genuinely makes str and int almost useless and transcend even becomes a slap in the face.

Int becomes a total joke now that high mdef mobs are introduced. Thank you imc but please do remember that wizards exist. Not only clerics. Thanks and fu ck you forever imc.

1:1 would be kinda broken. 0.75 mdef pen per 1 int would be ok.

INT adding MDEF penetration is actually a really good idea considering mobs get more MDEF as the game progresses.

Transendence has already broken INT and STR.
You’ve got to add it to skills themselves at this point but knowing AMC they’ll create some general attribute that boosts STR/INT effect by 300% or something…
Int.

INt actually requires Less.
STR is currently competing with DEX and doing poorly because of Transendence.

800 of a weapon that is 4000 attack is a 20% contribution.
50% more of that 4000 is 2000…not considering skill damage.
They’ve overinflated the value of Dex as a result.

They can remedy this with some quick fix work to make some (not all) skills have extra power via INT/STR just like Cure getting 1.2 skill damage per INT and Zaibas getting 1 skill damage per int.

Full INT is best CON on any mage with a Thau in it’s build tho. :joy:

Instead of having wizards be intelligent, IMC decided it would be best for them to run around with sweet gears, lots of HP and spam skills without any real skill. Don’t rely on int, rely on gears and gems. Having the huge HP pool just helps with surviving all the hard@$$ content IMC balances the game with.

I like the idea of giving 2matk and 1 matk pen. I would like it if it gave even some mdef.

Tree of CON.
IMC conned the players into believing there are actually 80 classes to play with, but it’s actually just clerics worth playing and all you need is HP to get through a lot of content.

This is a Full int build Thauma.
1189 is the total magic attack you get unarmed.
Most of Rank8 skill gives more than 700 extra damage per lvl.
INT is useless.

It’s far better rush Con and get some lvl 7-8 blue gems in a Purple 315 +10(up) and enhance it with blessed shards.

Con gives:

  • Critcal resistance
  • Block
  • Maximum HP
  • Maximum Carry

Int gives:

  • 1 attack damage. rolf

How does the same genius who came up with this not able to also figure out a proper scaling system for ATK-MATK/DEF-MDEF? It actually kind of really boggles my mind to be honest.

Red gem 600 total atk per slot. Rolf

The stats were already broken from the beginning since they

  • scale poorly
  • have a bad multiplier except INT/STR
  • actually punish users who spread their stats instead of encouraging them to invest into secondary stats by giving bonus points at high thresholds
  • are mostly useless except DEX and CON

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s actually nice that you can compensate stats with equipment since it feels less punishing to invest into other stats and enables you to build your character more to your liking. However, if some stats/builds are totally worthless because they don’t provide what you want/need for a certain class/character, it destroys the possibility of unique builds&stat distribution.

Transcendence was never planned to have such a heavy impact on the economy and gameplay[70 gems for 100% success on rank 10 trans], but somehow everyone was like “grump” "grump"
which opened the path for the wallet knights/whales, and stupid people started selling their shards to them, causing the current status of everyone blaming the system. It would’ve been better to introduce a weapon leveling system via EXP and materials instead, but transcendence itself isn’t that bad as it is designed to “grow with the player” while he plays the game, and every few days/weeks he could “grow” his equipment.

It would’ve been best to keep the shards/gems untradeable and instead make tradeable shards which could be created by combining like 5-10 normal,non-tradeable shards via NPC recipe. Those shards should also require 10 of them to create 1 gem, and should not be mixable with normal Saalus shards. That way people wouldn’t have sold their shards so willingly, and wallet knight would’ve needed way longer to achieve a full transcendence (several months). This would’ve also helped the stat-system as they(INT/STR) would’ve stayed viable way longer than currently but meh…

If you ask me, they should do a renewal of the stat system and scrap the whole old idea as it doesn’t work and only gets more broken with every update. At that time, they should also rebalance the Archer tree, as they are way too strong with auto attacks [aspd and basedamage{only the weaponry basedamage} requires nerf, reloading mechanic needs to be introduced, kiting needs to be shifted from Archer to other classes {no more kiting for Archers unless they have a Rank of a riding class}; trapping needs to be more rewarding, push back & immobilization needs to become more common for Archer gameplay to make it more interesting{e.g. by channeling time-reloading, making the attack chain interruptable} and challenging].

Sadly I don’t believe any of this will be happening unless JTOS and KTOS go down the drain, too…

bcs hidden mechanics reduce(3~5 sec) 50% of target pdef with auto attack

In my opinion they should give INT more offensive capabilities. Some sort of additional damage that is somewhat similar to a critical, but instead something around the idea of ‘find weakness’ type of effect. Higher INT gives character a chance of finding a weak spot of an enemy and hits it for extra damage.

I personally see Transcendence as: “We were too lazy to make proper itemization and stat scaling because the new weapon every 30 level system didn’t look good. We were also able to weave in a way for us to make more money off our users by creating this super lazy poorly designed system.”

Then the stat system they just scaled it for only the first 6 ranks and didn’t even bother to think about the future going all nilly willy. It allowed them to justify the Transcendence system being born too.

Magic Penetration
or
Magical Critical

or get rid of SPR and give int that MP and other stats :open_mouth: stupidity aside. Why not do both since it might make int useful

I didn’t like that DEX gives both accuracy and crit either… and for me it feels like that XD If anything then SPR should give that imo…but maybe I’m just overthinking it.

But INT is bad so it rly needs something extra.

What if INT would give +0.1% (or maybe less… 0.05%) elemental damage? (But it should be more well thought out)
Or could reduce the cooldown of skills by x%

Although the biggest problem as others mentioned is that multi stating is not supported at all… If INT would be good… then still everyone would go for full INT or full CON.

I think a soft cap for stats could somewhat solve this too. Gear stats/collection/etc could go beyond the cap but you could only manually put 280(without the bonuses) for example with the current level cap. Then you could place 50+ on something else.
I also think DEX(and SPR) should give something more to magic casters so it wouldn’t be that clear to max INT then put everything else on CON…

There are actually always a lot of options but these would need proper balancing after it…and I’m afraid IMC is lazy for that… I still hope I’m wrong because they said they will do something with INT and SPR… but I feel like they aren’t brave enough to make more drastic changes…when I think it would be needed…

At least we know they’ll do something. Keep your hopes up, guys.

When you see transcend and agny… it’s hard to believe there are any brainstorming.

ToS was planned to have 10 ranks of Classes
ToS was planned to have level cap of 600

We’re already halfway on the lvl cap and 2 ranks away for rank10.
All within the game’s first year, IMC planning division team has 0 idea of actual long term profit planning.
They just want to grab as much money now cos’ they themselves know this game ain’t gonna last long.

The person on their “balance” team sure doesn’t think that from the Staff’s response when asked these pressing questions. Bob Ross over there must have some fun things planned for his happy little mistakes and accidents to paint us a great game soon. Can’t wait to see what a beautiful ending finale we will have soon.

This would be a good idea. Wizards can do new content except for the new monsters with high mdef. If int adds mdef penetration then we can somehow damage those pesky high mdef monsters.

Well archers and swordsman have the option to go full dex and transcend so im not surprised this might be the new meta. Just like the full con and animus stat build in the past. This might be legit lmao.
