Dataminers have determined that dungeon runs will be restricted to twice a day with Token, and once for a non-subscriber in iToS:
Daily dungeon access was reduced from 2 + 3 with token to 1 + 1 with token.
I assume the logic there is that players will feel required to complete all daily dungeons every day for the $massive EXP$, and five dungeons a day is a large time investment, which could lead to burn-out.
I reserve judgement on the limits until we’ve been playing for a while, but I think this is going to be a significant social/community issue:
Average_Kirito: evening guild, anybody wanna dungeon with me?
Friend_1: sorry man, already did it today
Friend_3: yeah same here, already done both, gl though!
This is the same problem WoW had with daily heroic dungeons between patch 2.3 and and 3.3 – doing your daily dungeon would ‘lock’ you to the instance until the next day, preventing you from re-playing it with friends. This was a source of friction, and somebody in guild was inevitably left out because they logged in at a ‘bad’ time.
I’d like to ask IMC if they would consider the following change:
- Instead of being limited to 1/2 dungeons a day, you may complete unlimited dungeons
- You will receive a -X% EXP debuff after you have reached your limit.
- I’m unsure if negating 100% of EXP or merely most of it would be best.
- Whatever is decided is fine, though – ultimately, as long as you have the freedom to decide if spending 20m in a dungeon with your friends despite getting no benefit, it’s up to the player to make a value judgement.
- You will be unable to loot items in the dungeon after you have reached your limit.
These changes will still allow players to group with friends/guildies and play together. The game was designed with dungeon EXP / drops being limited, so I think this design would preserve both the integrity of t the game and the community.
