AA, but there’s a splash of PVP and AOE in there for variety. I was torn between kneeling shot 10 and BM2 for a while, but I think I’m better off with mozambique and some AOE capability.

Feel free to suggest points to move around. I recognize that a lack of stealth detection is a big weakness here. Can’t have everything.

By the way, anyone recognized anything in this build I should be wary of that can cancel it when used? Can I use stuff like blindside, devaluation and stone shot in DGS, or do those need to be unloaded before turning it on?

scout is fine if you have a use for cloaking outside ET, i’d rather go rouge for better AA damage.

try rogue instead archer2

if you are going archer 2 for the crit passives I’d recommend going the rogue route as well like others mentioned.

Kneeling shot is a great skill for classes that make use of it ( falconer’s pheasant , Sapper’s broom trap and Fletcher’s magic arrow) other then that I wouldn’t recommend kneeling and AAing at all.

Multi shot is something I never really used myself being full dex, I attack faster then it shoots so why bother and since you are going QS/BM my guess is that you are going the dex route as well.

I don’t like RIP , it hits at most 3 enemies and even with its 2 charges doesnt damage as much but I’m a BM 1 so maybe 4 points into that just wasnt good. I reseted it and got Full Metal jacket, I dont regret it. Bloody Overdrive is way better than RIP in my opinion , at least damage and Aoe Ratio wise.

Seems like a lot of rogue love. I often hear that kneeling shot is considered a beginner’s trap. But I’ve seen it used to seemingly good effect in a few videos from ktos, but that could be outdated.

Rogue would be a clear advantage for bossing in parties. No question. Can you guys tell me more about why kneeling shot is particularly bad for AA?

And yes, scout has to stay. I’m ok with losing some damage to get cloaking. My guild gets into trouble here and there.

As for RIP, what you’re saying makes sense. I’ll abuse rank down to try them both out at rank 1 and get a feel for the animations.

if you have proper investment on this character, you can ditch archer2 to get rouge on rank5.

kneeling shot is not really that bad, if you are focused on AA-ing, although i get the point why it is bad, slow animation on kneeling/un-kneeling (the most irritating, sometimes while you are doing something it does not really cast until you are stationary), you can’t move, can’t use almost all skills, but if used correctly (positioning) and maybe with good support especially in late game, the patk and crit rate boost is very very helpful.

the crit rate boost is what you are looking for with kneeling, I get around 10% crit chance whenever I use kneeling, but I use only for pheasant as I can cast it and kneel right after , I then cancel it to use other skills ( also sonic strike from pre-emptive strike benefits a lot from kneeling).

nice AA build but still been a cannon glass so its pretty useless on some situations like against a cleric with revive on pvp

I don’t recommend rogue1, archer2 is just much simpler to use, I can’t do math properly but with rogue1 you’ll only get a 40% crit chance (not uptimed, 20s downtime[edit:10s downtime thx to attribute]) from behind and with 3 werewolf cards you’ll have 30% of that 40% to crit also from the front/sides.
So in order to have this crit chance you’ll have to:

  1. acquire 3x lv10 werewolf cards
  2. fill ALL your purple slots with such cards, this mean no gazing golem no anything else

plus you’ll be left with a 50s duration*/70s cd buff (edit: +10s from attribute)

instead archer2 gives you 150crit rate permanently without ANY drawback, you can now go calculate the exact crit chance against end game mobs if you want but I think archer2 is better than rouge by a long shot, especially for easiness of use

You clearly never play rogue. Attribute give extra 10sec. Sneak hit gem get you to 64/70 sec. Occasionally you will get divine might, and sometime other cd reduction skill.

Card is dirt cheap now.

If gazing golem is that reliable, Runcaster won’t be that famous for velcoffer.

And as much as swift step give +150 crit rate, it actually translate to less than 5-10% crit chance, reason why red gem still superior to green gem in many calculations.

But imo, I’ll only pick rogue if I have Ranger in my build for barrage combo. Else I rather free up higher rank circle for something else.

This is exactly the type of conversation I was hoping to provoke.

I’m with you on rogue being superior for the total crit, especially in a group setting.

I have a reliable 0.06-0.1 latency, so attack speed does a lot for me, so the answer isn’t clear. Rogue1 gets me better crit. Archer2 gives me inferior crit but access to kneeling for AA spam, which is admittedly situational. I’m still torn tbh.

Anybody else want to weigh in?

I do have a rogue3 but since I don’t play it much I forgot about the attribute, still, I think archer2 is just better and much more versatile, swift step may be only 5-10% crit rate at 360 but it’s always there and doesn’t require 3x cards + recasting every 60s, plus you also share it with your party so if there are other phisical dps in it, it’s another added bonus.

I’m not denying that rogue1 gives a (slightly) better crit chance but it’s just a lot less usable compared to archer2

I don’t think you’ll ever want Archer 2 if you’re planning to pvp with this. Rogue fits PVP much more.

Rogue2 certainly does, but what does Rogue1 give me besides a nicer crit rate when chasing targets? Lachy’s great but it’s outside of my reach.

overall usage, swift step is nice but kneeling shot is hardly used at all for pvp

for pve i’m all in for archer 2 over rogue 1, specially on a physical dps group.

is scout invi fixed in tbl now? (no shadow)

I’m starting to lean towards your take on things. Kneeling is clunky.

Do any of you happen to know if animation-cancelling being a net increase in hits per second while moving is still a thing? I picked up kneeling and was not impressed by the aspd increase. 150 sounds like a big number, but in practice I hardly noticed much increase at all.

Could that be why?

missing rogue hurts a bit, but for PvP scout is great
in QS You can max pavise there is no time for picking up stones
as Appraiser You can max identify for offline income (forgery looks useless)
as BM DONT SKIP silver bullets, this skill is amazing, i suggest 5 points (yes using it every 30 sec is very annoying)
i ll try tracer bullet by myself, i skiped it for no real reason, hah

I have an archer main so I’ll weigh in on rogue1 vs archer 2:

I used a Rogue1 build on my QS3-Falco-Mergen. The build was based from InjeKang in youtube if you know him. Koreans did the math he says, and Rogue offers a lot more crit % for someone well-geared end game.

But recently I changed to Archer 2 simply because:

  1. personally i find it a low uptime for something that will hit as % backstab that will then further convert to crit %

  2. apart from sneaky hit, Capture is the next good skill. Great burst, I loved it, but tooooo long CD (5mins i think)

  3. my build with Falco3 works BETTER when I Roost+Phesant+Kneeling shot. I think I reach 600k in miki with this

  4. for me, I feel flat crit rate is better in PvE (my build). I usually would kill any mob on few hits so flat crit rate sounds more reasonable

  5. i feel rogue is either better for bossing/TBL builds.

  6. picking archer 2 gave me 3 free purple slots that I know use with 3 Gazing golems. Afterall, being knocked down = no dps. So having pain barrier up somewhat translates to dps for me

As your build is BM2 and pvp, maybe better Rogue as it will synergize with your Scout as well

Aspd increase comes in a dex bracket. To reach the next bracket you will need higher and higher dex. This should be somewhere in the Archer sub topics. Or you could google it and it appears as a reddit thread

I agree but i’m curious, why use Roost if you are a Falconer 3?
