if I learnt something from dragon age inquisition, crafting is useless unless you are lvl 14+ (in dragon age)
in ToS the same, crafting lame things during the early levels is useless, ToS should change it.
crafting should be only for “cool” weapons armors, etc
and in order to craft those items you should get them from bosses or mobs with really low dropping rates
schematics for armor, wepons, etc you will only use for a couple of levels is a waste of time
ToS should really change the whole crafting thing, learn from dragon age Inquisition nobody use “the crafting” until you kill the dragons and you finally have 3 tier items before that is useless
There are in fact recipes that are very “cool” and either drop at very low rate, from tough bosses that have low/random spawns/special triggers, or materials for them.
Then there is also gear (even level 15 gear), that drops from just normal mobs at a very low rate (recipes/mats), and is still relevant at 200. This I believe, is much more useful and “cool”
Also this is not a beta test bug report, and is in the wrong category.
crafting even in lower level is a great way to save money (provided you can hunt all materials needed).
And the fact that most of them have an edge compare to weapons/armours sold in NPCs.
Base on experience on crafting games. Some crafted equips (low level) are better than equips in par to your level (dropped by mobs). (stat wise / effect wise)
What??? Tree of Savior is not Dragon Age??? Whoops I’ve been beta testing for the wrong game the whole time!! Man, I bet any comparison I make now to Dragon Age is just moot. Glad I saved myself the trouble phew!!!
Also don’t crafted items have higher potential than normal? That would make it potentially better through upgrades. I didn’t know that the lower tier crafted items build into other things. Neat.
Not the best example.
Vubbe Fighter Blood - an item needed to craft said gloves has such an abysmally low drop rate, that by the time you get one vial (think upwards of a full day spent farming a low-level mob with very few spawn points) you could’ve advanced significantly in levels. Crafting needs some work, true (starting with introducing a recipe book so that players don’t have to carry all those recipes around in their bags) but items that essentially, are aimed at altoholics are not what is needed the most.
We need stuff that allows us to obtain viable equipment in a way that relies less on RNG (getting a lucky drop) and more on dedication (farming specific materials).
i agree BUT make sure the drop rates are reasonable cause from most games i played, the drops are just stupidly insanely hard to drop from monsters or bosses… which kinda leads to the rise in prices on markets
NOTE: balancing RNG and dedication to farm the drops is hard and hopefully IMC Games can pull it off
The Vubbe example was more of ‘gear someone at lv 200 might still use’
For recipe that doesn’t require rare drop, Potentia, same place.
There’s also Five Hammer later on (dat +5 splash, and 5 possible sockets) that requires…wait for it…monsters around lv 55 parts.
Also, due to the rarity of the blood, any random player who’s lucky enough to get one can also sell it to other players for an influx of silver (I sold mine for 10,000…probably underpriced but the guy seemed desperate + it’s beta so I don’t care too much about money)
Anyway, weapon crafting is…questionable outside of the pioneers. Due to the level requirement in ToS being in brackets (15 40 75 120, etc) you can always just grab equipment that drops at the end of your level bracket (for 2H example, Superior Flamberge instead of Potentia)
they did the 15 40 75 brackets is kinda similar to animes (from my opinion) since lv shouldn’t be the main requirement but the rarity and stats example, a tresh weap is one of the better weaps for lv 40 while there are lower stats one (lv 40) but with better effects for various situations~ this kinda tries to keep the weapon stuffs not boring
The point of saying that ToS is not Dragon Age, is because it doesn’t make a lot of sense to compare both crafting systems, which is explained if you read the rest of the post.
Why do you assume I am targeting you alone? If you want to pull the reading card, maybe you should read the entire thread. There are at least three other people perpetuating this problem where people can’t compare two things without defence being taken. It can be compared because they have crafting systems in both. What the OP wants to achieve by comparing the two is drawing ToS away from Dragon Age’s crafting system. It’s a meaningful comparison.
Without being able to draw a comparison between two games, we are not able to see what ToS does right or wrong. We should draw as many comparisons as we like, if that will help us come closer to the ideal game, even if that means comparing it to Dragon Age, or even Ragnarok.
facepalm Devs just want us to enjoy the game, not to make an ideal game where it may become a competition or start future thread wars~
The thread that is posted said they should change ToS crafting system because its useless during early levels which is the same as dragon age, can you really say that for certain until u tried crafting most of the gears available during CBT and actually compared them to gears from drops(mobs boss etc) or from npcs?

what’s the point of giving input on the game if you don’t intend to change it?

[/quote] did we play the same CBT? I had several crafted items that were superior to the dropped loot. I can definitely compare here. I don’t necessarily care for OP’s idea at all, and think the crafting system is fine as it is right now. It’s a touch boring though, so it would be entertaining to see them push it farther.
I played the same CBT as you Satryx, beside I´m just giving my point of view that is the whole point of the beta, give an opinion and try to improve the game
Staryx, FatePGN have you played Dragon Age?
just play it a little, the craft system is similar (regular drop item plus and schematic) and you get a better equipment than the regular one, I just said it can be better.
all games are “inspired” in other games, Ragnarok 2 tried to copy WOW, Dragon Age its quite similar to Never Winter Night, Fable is similar to Never Winter Night
but they are all unique they were not a “wanna be” or a lame remake copy
almost every rpg are inspire in the originals Final Fantasy, yet they are all unique
you know Staryx
I did craft a lot and they are better than the regular drop items, all craft items are better than the regular ones if they are not, ono will craft anything
I JUST SAID
the craft system could be a little more “premium”, an opinion of mine you know to do the game a little better that is why we were beta tester to give our opinion
