Could you guys implement some sort of Heartbeat feature for the client?

A couple of days during this beta I’ve experienced some network instability on my side. What I found out is that whenever I got disconnected from the Internet, the game client would continue to function as if nothing had happened. It would only bring me to the character select or login screen after I tried to change maps or perform certain kinds of interaction. Even clicking the logout button would do nothing, so usually it’d be faster to just close the client and run it again from Steam.

Basically what I’m asking for is to let the client know when it’s lost connection to the server (faster than it does now) so that we’re not forced to waste so much time on a loss of connection.

In a test, I rebooted my modem while my character was logged in the middle of some uncrowded map. I decided to do nothing and just observe. Hours passed and the client didn’t detect the loss of connection (or if it did at least it didn’t do anything about it). This seems to indicate a lack of client-server synchronization.
