Could the IMC create a new base class. The Thief Class

It could have a thief type class, with the evolution from rank to reaper and assassin and others ranks.
Using weapons like: Twin Dagger, Chains, Scythe …

For the type of Daggers, he is focusing on critical damage skills, exploration of target weakness, few targets, but average damage, high critical rate. With target trap skills in chains, join the targets with a series of attacks.

Point-Weak: Low defense, Low hp, few targets.
Point Strength: Low Cooldown, Various Attacks and Sequences, High Mobility, High Critical Damage through Passive.

Sure, lets create a base class called thief, the following classes of this class tree are:

  1. Rufflers (thieving beggars, apprentice uprightment)
  2. Uprightmen (leaders of robber bands)
  3. Hookers or anglers (thieves who steal through windows with hooks)
  4. Rogues (rank-and-file vagabonds)
  5. Wild rogues (those born of rogues)
  6. Priggers of prancers (horse thieves)
  7. Palliards (male and female beggars, traveling in pairs)
  8. Fraters (sham proctors, pretending to beg for hospitals, etc.)
  9. Abrams (feined lunatics)
  10. Fresh-water mariners or whipjacks (beggars pretending shipwreck)
  11. Dummerers (sham deaf-mutes)
  12. Drunken tinkers (thieves using the trade as a cover)
  13. Swadders or peddlers (thieves pretending to be peddlers)
  14. Jarkmen (forgers of licenses) or patricoes (hedge priests)

Female classes:

  1. Demanders for glimmer or fire (female beggars pretending loss of fire)
  2. Bawdy baskets (female peddlars)
  3. Morts (prostitutes and thieves)
  4. Autem morts (married harlots)
  5. Walking morts (unmarried harlots)
  6. Doxies (prostitutes who begin with uprightmen)
  7. Dells (young girls, incipient doxies)
  8. Kinchin morts (female beggar children)
  9. Kinchin coes (male beggar children)

Lol very funny, but would be classes of the type Thief, Assassin, Reaper, Persecutor, Lunatic, Commander la mort, Chaîne principale, Executors, Shadow Walker …

The first reply in the thread I don’t think makes the point in the simplest way. The classes in this game are represented by real life fighting forces with backgrounds and history based in reality. Then they throw in the fantasy, the cutesy looks and the outlandish flashy looks and explosions.

Thieves in reality aren’t much of a fighting force, and there is no such thing as a reaper (your example of what classes would show up) as far as I know, the bandit style of thieving is already represented in the game in the current classes so we don’t really need an entirely new base class devoted to it.

but scout rogue and shinobi already exist

Just my opinion and everyone can feel free to disagree with it. But I think that “thief” classes don’t really have enough to support it as a base class.

It’s a popular theme which I’m sure a lot of people want to play with but in this scale I feel like it’s not fitting for the game. I don’t oppose a “better” thief class to swordsman/archer tree/s.

it is, but the devs didnt want a criminal class hence it doesnt exist. Which is weird because Shiobi is clearly an assassin.

Pretty much all of the RO thief/Assa/Rogue skills are ingame and have just been given to various other classes.
Double Attack unfortunately didnt make it as it is just a 50% damage boost to auto attacks (which don’t really exist in TOS as people use skills all the time)

it’d be cool to have a thief class that could use different weapons in either hand and that could pick jobs from both the swordie and archer tree.

Sounds cheesy, why not just pick from all four base classes so you can pick up heal tiles whilst you are at it :nerd:

I remember reading about it somwhere in the old dev blog, and the answer was: “There’ll be no criminals in this game.”

Weird though, I’m pretty sure Pirate Corsairs are “Your money or(/and) your life” same with Rogues if we are talking about bandits.

They were talking about additional branch, explicitly named “Thief”, I guess. Those two are looking absolutely criminal. <_<

I think I’ve decided what I think they’ve meant by no criminals, I think they were talking about career criminal killings rather than criminals in search of wealth that just use the threat of violent.
IE people that would end a life just to end a life would be excluded, where as Pirates and Bandits would take a persons belongings and not their life so that they could potentially rob them again another day, having to kill someone is bad for business both the merchant is dead and because the news may spread that the region doesn’t isn’t safe enough to even run the risk of being robbed because you could be killed as well.

To bring it back around to the main point I just don’t think there are enough real life classes to come off of a thief base class without adding in a load of career killers.

They can’t properly balance what they’ve at the moment and you want them to release a full new class branch lol

I don’t think they would since your are supposed to be a religious believer who follow the goddesses’ teachings. That means no stealing or killing of your own kind. I do hope they create classes that help the demons so that we can have some badass classes like thief and assassin. I’m sick of those noob goddesses who only have big boobs, always waiting for us to save them or do stupid dailies for them, they don’t even know how to transcend their own weapons.

I’m more hope they better doing a musical base class.
Or each hidden musical class for each tree.

Swordsman - Percussion Instrument like drummer
Archer - Wind like Flute
Cleric - Struck String like Violin
Wizard - Pluck String like Guitar

The only musical-related class we will ever see… unless they threw the idea away like how Centurion was removed (?) from the game. Skip to 1:55

Yes, that’s what I saw before.

I even hope all those hidden class have a specific UI to write/play their own score or even can orchestra in town. The idea is so fun and lively to game

Some might argue ‘ToS ain’t that game’, but RO’s Assassins guild were true neutral, and kept the racial power balance in Midgard.

I agree tho, with how hopelessly useless they are because of ‘plot says so’, and the way the Goddesses treated Hauberk(and demons in general)'s poor souls is nowhere near benevolent and good.

hmm hmm…
Shinobi since they (historically) uses ninjato (shinobi katana), they categories it as swordsman
