Tree of Savior Forum

Controls / Graphics Settings / Respawn Rate

Hi. For the past 12 days that I have been playing Tree of Savior, here are some things that I hope would be implemented to the game.

1. Controls

ToS is a PC game so the main controls would be mainly Keyboard + Mouse. Joysticks and Game controllers are optional. I really want to play this game using Keyboard + Mouse. Something like this.

Keyboard

Movement : W, A, S, D
NPC Select/Skip dialogue : E
Jump : Space
Dash(For Swordsman) : Shift + WASD
Quickslot 1~0 : User determined

Mouse

Mouse 1 : Select target (target locked/auto face target both melee and range) like Ragnarok. Like if I single click a monster/player, my character will attack/chase that target until I change targets.

Mouse 2 : Use item/skill/move to selected area
Mouse Cursor : Aiming for AOE skills

2. Mob re-spawn time

I don’t know if its bugged or what but sometimes it takes so long for monsters to spawn. Kindly look into that please.

3. Graphics Settings

Please be more detailed on the graphics settings. Textures/FXAA/AA/Shadows/Effects/Bloom etc from Low to High. A hide other characters(except for party) toggle which would be very useful during boss raids.

4. An Anti-Bot patrol

Come on guys seriously. We players are here to play. It’s the GM’s duty to get in game and patrol every single channel searching for bots and dealing with them IMMEDIATELY. There’s no investigation needed for an individual with a “ahsjdkja” name spamming a website. Just ban them right away.

Thank you for reading this wall of text. I hope you’d reconsider.

have you never looked in the (very small) Settings option, and considered “Keyboard” mode?
which does… pretty much exactly what you have there?

WASD…
Space = dialogue skip/jump
dash = double-press
quickslots are 1-0 by default, but keybinds are a setting…
mouse: pretty much as described.

yea, this isn’t really news.

I did say keyboard + mouse. Not just keyboard alone. You cant attack with your mouse in keyboard mode.

Please READ. Carefully.

And in mouse mode, NPC select is IN mouse1. There’s no target lock for MELEE. Only for RANGED classes.

oh. then i probably meant Mouse mode.

try that. whatever. i use keyboard and mouse all day every day. the mode exists, and how you haven’t found it on your own in 2 weeks amazes and saddens me.

melee: click the enemy. you begin to auto-attack.
i’m really not sure what else you need.
if you’re not satisfied with that, then just keep clicking your target[s]. you’re holding the mouse anyway, so how is this a problem?

ALL THAT SAID…

yes, mouse mode ABSOLUTELY needs a “use” button, like space does in keyboard mode.

And again you missed the “Target lock auto-face opponent” part for both “melee and ranged” “like Ragnarok”

Again. You’re not reading carefully. Please. READ. Carefully.

fine. you’re right. i’m obviously an idiot, and just making things up.

i haven’t leveled several characters using this method, because it doesn’t exist.
i’m just clicking wildly in space, and i guess the game is taking pity on me and killing a few mobs for me while i rub my face against the cave wall.
it doesn’t work at all for my swordy or my cryo, or my pyro, or my cleric.
i’m sure if i created an archer it wouldn’t work for that either.

y’know, because my reading comprehension is so poor, i can’t even understand what those funny pictures on the screen are doing, i just like to watch the flashy lights.

yep. sure.

i’m using the exact same control method i used in RO.

oh wait, no i’m not. i’m so dumb that i forgot for a moment that i’m only half as smart as jello, and making up stories because i can’t tell the difference.

Just ignore this thread sir. You’re way smarter than this. Have a good day. I edited the thread just now btw. It might help on what I’m trying to say.

yea, i mean hey, that’s what it already does… your character isn’t smart enough to automatically chase the mob when it runs (or maybe too smart to chase it into a possible ambush)… but they still keep attacking (even tho it’s doing nothing.)

and i already said that yes, mouse mode needs a “use” button.

but hey, if almost-exactly-what-you-asked-for is not what you actually want, then i’ve got no idea how to help you.

They need to REMOVE the interact with NPC in mouse1 and change it to something we are comfortable. Like “E” for Skip/Talk to NPC

Yes it is already what it is but what I’m saying is to lock on a target with a single click. That doesn’t do that on my Hoplite.

seems more than reasonable to remove it from mouse1, if you’re replacing it with something else.
idk about E, for my own preference… but hey, if you’re moving it to a key, put it in the keybinds section, and anyone can just pick whatever they do like.

maybe i just don’t get what you mean by “lock on”.
i click it, it starts spamming auto-attacks, the monster (sometimes) runs away and i keep swinging at air.
unless you mean that your char should then chase after it, i’m not sure what you mean.

as for chasing it, i don’t really agree. seems like it would lead to too many situations where suddenly the party is split in 3 different corners of the room… or you’re distracted for a moment as your character runs through a huge pack of monsters and gets totally swarmed.

Now we are starting to get on the same page. See that’s what I meant. When you click mouse1, your character starts attacking the target and when the target runs away, your character is attacking air.

That’s what I wanted to change. Instead of attacking mid air, your character would stop attacking and chase the target “locked on” and attack it again. To stop it from attacking then you simply push your directional keys which is WASD.

You won’t see characters attacking mid air in Ragnarok. I know this ain’t Ragnarok but I’m referring to its controls to be similar.

As for me, E works fine for “talk to npc/skip dialogue”.
