Controller buttons are scrambled

Bug Description : Usually I have my “b” button bound to interact my “a” button bound to jump and my “x” button bound to basic attack, but ever since I logged in this morning my “x” button is bound to interact my “b” button is bound to jump and my “a” button is bound to basic attack. I tried to go into the settings and under the UI Mode tab I clicked key settings, I can click the mouse and keyboard dropdown menu’s however I cannot open the controller dropdown menu for it. Any help is appreciated
(letting us know what you were doing before, during, and after the bug happened will help us a lot)

Steps to reproduce the issue :

1. Login
2. Press “A”
3. Wonder why it swings my sword

This sounds a LOT like my issue

Controller button scheme switch bug makes me want to quit

Okay so apparently there is a short in my controller wire and I only noticed it during ToS since I was playing it recently. I didn't notice it during other games because my posture is slightly different when playing them, and the wire didn't short during those times. After extended testing with other games I noticed my controller bugging out. I realized it was a short because the mode button on the Logitech F310 sometimes wasn't responding to my input for it (the LED light next to it normally …

I do admit my controller wire shorted, but I think it might be due to a Steam update of some sort

Edit: What you should do is go to Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> Controller config and constantly check the state of your controller to see how Steam is detecting it.

If the config changes while you play, it’s an issue through Steam and not specifically ToS

unfortunately nothing I did playing with steam buttons fixed it, and when I go to that path you specified I don’t get controller config as an option, instead I get general controller settings, big picture config, desktop config, and guide button chord config.

Yeah I apologize, I believe it is General Controller Settings

My problem was due to a shorted wire in my controller and Steam losing focus of my controller during that time… then my button configuration changed when the controller was detected by Steam and not updated to the XBox360 controller configuration until later during extended gameplay and interacting with something or changing characters.

Here is the best way to go about Controllers:

1. Run Steam as Admin
2. On steam clique the little white controller button on the top right corner to launch Big Picture Mode
3. In Big Picture Mode clique top right corner Cogwheel
4. Under Controller select Controller Settings
5. In Controller Settings make sure your Controller type is selected, if not on the list, tick the Generic Controller
6. Disconnect Controller, give it 2secs, re Connect Controller, your controller should pop up
7. Now that your Controller is being recognized by Steam, clique the <- Arrow on the Top Left of the screen twice
8. Go to Library
9. Select Games > Tree of Savior
10. Select Manage Game > Controller Configuration
11. Here you can change the keybinds of your Controller, its not very user friendly, but does the job
12. After your done, launch Tree of Savior
13. Wen you finally get in game after selecting a character, Disconnect Controller and Re Connect Controller.
14. Your Controller should be working fine now.

I don’t understand how to rebind my joysticks or triggers and even if I did I don’t know what I would bind it to, I have already bound the d-pad and a,x,b buttons, but past that I am lost.

I’ve had this same issue and it was bothering me for quite some time.

My solution was to grab the addon ‘joystick extender’. Now, before you get this you will want to backup your hotkey_joystick.xml because one problem it did add for me sadly is that I can’t seem to properly use Set 2.

In order to get around THIS problem that was created, I went to settings, changed it to Controller from Auto, restarted ToS. It now works exactly as I want it to and I’ve yet to have ANY jumble using it for 3 days now. If I change keys on one they stay 100% separated from the other.
