You gain and lose gems gems inside dungeons, i see no problem with it. Although, it does suck when you die do to a disconnection or client crashing, which shouldn’t happen anymore by the time we reach open beta.
Death penalties that have meaning are good, please do not remove this feature.
I second this because I was instantly DEPRESSED after I clicked the wrong button to revive at closest spot instead of at my current location in the mine dungeon. I clicked the wrong button out of habit because I constantly died during boss fights. I’m not sure if this is a bug but a minor problem is the buttons change position when I am out of a boss fight. I presume icoins will be like the quarters you put in at the arcade (old school Love it); for cosmetic items and etc. I presume items that these items don’t necessarily make a character stronger. BUT reviving to get gems back means players get to pay for gems which another player will could consider a pay to win method. Requiring icoins to revive at location is okay, but the fact that it allows the player to get the gems they earned with time and effort is wrong. Not only that the player gets to continue the grind and boss fight, but they get to keep gems they wouldn’t have if they didn’t spend money.
Gems are untradeable.
Agree to the losing of socketed gems, right now its too forgiving.
I want death to be something that is trully feared rather than a minor inconvenience
You only lose gems if you die in a dungeon, right?
Chiming in with my two cents: At the moment I would opt to keep the penalties as is. Not only aren’t the gems that dear a resource (You get plenty from chests and by just killing anything you see while moving instead of blitzing dungeons and quests) but you also have very little other penalties.
With the goddess statues conveniently located not only at the entrance to the map leading to a dungeon, but also on the different floors of the dungeons, getting killed and walking again can take less than a minute. That is a joke compared to Ragnarok Online where you could end up spawning back in Prontera and having to traverse up to more than 5 full maps, dodge monsters, and then fight back down to your dungeon if you don’t happen to have a convenient friend open a warp for you.
On top of that, having so many statues means that you can easily venture back to town every hour and deposit the items into the storage. With the drop rates as they were in the Beta, just common item drops will more than make up for the fees as well.
The way it currently is you have to either be clumsy or just not care in order to lose many gems to the death penalty.
I think the experience loss and the durability loss would be a much harsher penalty on later levels, since you can’t really protect your exp or items from it.
But as it stands, by the time any of the losses become truly ravaging, you will most likely be adventuring with a class that can open portals, revive and repair to blunt the damage for you.
I think if there was a short beginner tip that told me where and how I can deposit my gems, I would have done it. It completely slipped my mind and I had no idea I could deposit my gems and forgot the utility of bank/storage from other MMOs.
It is frustrating, yes. But I do not see the issue with it. If you made a lvl 3 gem, you should have enough silver to put your “precious” in the warehouse. Just my opinion… I was constantly putting valuables in the warehouse, and it barely effected my funds.
Oh but they are tradeable, just die in a dungeon and let your friend pick them up!
I personally do not like the idea of gems dropping upon death. i was in the midst of a boss battle in a dungeon today right after obtaining 2 gems from the dungeon…I was in the midst of a quest which is why I was in there I was not expecting a boss battle. I was Disconnected and when I reconnected I was outside the dungeon and I noticed my green gem missing and I still had my blue gem. I agree with the topic above I feel its already enough of a toll on the player, we have armor durability that we have to manage and the dungeons get a little crazy with monsters, it would not be shocking that someone dies but to lose gems can be rather frustrating. I’ve never liked the idea of dropping items on death I just don’t see a reason to penalize a player for dying. Sure my gems are most likely easy to obtain and this is a beta test so its not like i’m really losing anything but I don’t think i’d want that feature in the game when it goes live.
for me its not beta test… i was juz farming around ezy agro mob juz to find suddenly i cant use skill… i can still moving but i receive damage like i wasnt even moving… i wouldnt even call it lag since im receiving damage normally with no delay at all… i was forced to receive damage with no chance to use skill, item or moving at all… i even consider to autoatk but the mob have golden bell skill which gives immunity…im a ■■■■■■■ priest that have revive skill but i couldnt even activate the skill even thou i keep clicking that skill… even after i die… can u believe it i still cant click the damn resurrection stone for a long time…i was like wtf… i can still consider if i cant click the skill due to interuption from mob atk but even during die state i still cant click the res stone… i keep click non-stop then i was resurrected its was no longer there…im still salty about this… theres no drop in fps at that watsoever… juz ■■■■■■■ stupid server error… theres 3 gem with lvl 4 there and im new to this game about a month experience…(i spend some time to learn the mechanic of the game and stuff due to stat issue and no skill reset thing) i dont hate gem drop during death but ■■■■■■■ die due ■■■■■■■ server is a total oppression to me especially the server that stop the character from receiving any command from the client while not disconnecting the character
the facking server juz let me watch my character die slowly being tortured by lot of mobs with no lagging at all… isnt that ridiculous? IM SALTY BECUZ I DIE JUZ LIKE THAT NOT BECUZ I LOSE IN FIGHTING OR DIE BY MOB SKILL BUT DIE BY SERVER ERROR
