I heard that Cata gains advantage when mounting a companion. One of the advantages is that it adds an 25% of companions HP to that a player. So I spent more than 1m on this I figured out that there is no actual increase after upgrading my pets HP. I still have the same HP regardless of the amount of the pet’s HP and/or wether I bring him along or not. Mounting also does not help.

So, did I actually lost more than 1m silver for nothing?

Feed your pet ffs. You wont receive any bonuses if pet is hungry.

There is currently a bug with cata + mount

The bonus DOES get apply. However, it works like this:

  • The first time you start the game client, your character will have lower HP. Mounting will increase the HP
  • After that, mount and dismount DOES NOT change your max HP anymore

Feeding pet has nothing to do with that though, my mount is always starving

Yes, but right now it doesn’t matter, since after you mount the first time, your HP will be increased even if you dismount after that (which you will, since even changing map will dismount you)

not sure what thailehuy mention are…
but in my experience my mount do give the bonus hp, though the stamina have to be at least 1/60 when you mount them.
things to note:

  • pet’s stamina : doesn’t matter if it did drop to 0/60 after you mounted, hp bonus still works (keep in mind sitting/dying does dismount you).
  • you could not feed pet/increase stamina inside dg/mission (this is why mounting with 0 sta pet not really recommended when going to dg/mission)
  • the hp bonus takes time to refresh the number (the bar below my char usually update instantly after mounting but the number on the upper left corner update after a moment)
