Companion Offense Attributes

Hi,

I would like to know what are the factors that affects the companion’s (for Hunter class) offense attributes. I’m calculating them…

Here’s what I know,

  1. Through Companion NPC silver buy stats
  2. Through Weapon Slots
  3. Weapon and Armor’s additional attribute from gems and stats

Those are all I know… But the other questions in my mind are,

  • Does the red gem from main weapon really affects it? How? Since its max attack…

  • Pet’s attribute (by looking through F9) are the only attribute inherited by pets right?.. stats like block, attack speed, etc are note applicable?

  • Does elemental attributes from weapon will add to normal and skill attack of the companion? and even so Additional Critical Damage?

  • This will off topic but I’m also considering the stats it gives to Cataphract and SR but I think those are just evasion, defense and hp… Anyway, I’ve researched about it and that’s all I know… besides I’m not talking about them… Just in case there is additional things to consider (like if I’m gonna shift my desired build)

Also, if you are a Hunter, what’s your companion’s build? Like exact stats amount to crit, physical damage and total damage output? How about weapon, armor and gems being given to their equipment…

What’s your thought? It really amaze me to have a pet/'companion to fight with but I really do not know how to do this…

Hope to hear from you guys…

P.S.
If there are videos and actual build (which are not baseless theory craft because I just made a trash build and abandoned it along the way because of the mislead of theory craft players…), please do so…
I’m having a hard time researching for this… Hunter class is often look down as I observed… only R7 and R8 really shines in this class rank forum…

Leveling the pet also effects its damage and stats.

  • Red gems do not effect pet stats unless it is on a secondary weapon, not main weapons.

  • Pets have hidden attributes that you cannot see. Such as elemental damage (when equipped with stuff that has elemental damages), block, Str, Con, Dex, etc.

  • Elemental attributes do add extra damage. Not sure about the additional critical damage as I have not tested it.

  • If you are going to use your pet for Cata and SR, only defensive stats apply. I suggest you get a cash shop pet, good for any and all characters.

For my pet (I am a hunter/Falconer). At the moment I don’t worry about putting points on my pet yet. That’s mainly for richer players/min maxers. The best weapons to use for a pet to equip are bows. Pets use the average of the weapons attack range, bows have the best/smallest.
(Quick tip: Squire buff the weapon before equipping it on your pet, the bonus lasts forever until you try to equip it on your character.)
As for the armor slot, I go with Boots and use blue gems on them. Pets have a very high evasion stat, plus evasion allows them to dodge all the annoying stuff that messes up your pets attacks (Ie. Stuns, knockdowns, knockbacks). Magic damage is unavoidable so why worry about it

I enjoy my hunter/falconer.
Pets are strong companions for hunters, single target enemies and flying bosses don’t mean anything to me (they melt). Hunters are a also strong cc class.

If you want, this is my build. Do not copy and paste it. Use it as a template, because what works for me may not work for you.

R7 and R8 are important, but if you invest in proper builds and attributes, low ranks can become strong as well in r8 content.

Edit:
P.S. not every class is strong for every situation.
