Just a short info from me. Mostly how i feel about companions and what i know now.

  1. Getting an Companion was worth it. +Crit, extra dps dealer, aggro mobs focus him first and he’s tankyer then me (level 22 pet and 44 archer).
  2. ALts can use the companion too. The xp he gains correlates to the mob level it seems, as he leveld about as fast as with the level 44 archer? But then again, my pyromancer sweept the first 30 levels in 1 hour. Yay for +10 weapon.
  3. The AI is okay. But not so intelligent like i would want it to be.

The pet mostly works fine. If i attack something, he attakcs it. (if theres no server lag)
If i get attacked, he defends me.
And if there’s stamina he will use skills automatically!

You heard me right.
The companion uses his own set of skills. I saw him do the rush dog animation without that he even knows it!
There’s a few things to companion atks.

  1. It’s AOE around 2 to 3 in rateing.
  2. it’s between 100% for an normal atk. 150% for the step attack and it can crit.
  3. Skills will do about triple the atk he has atm.

I had my pet kill the first few bosses, till my mage was pyromancer.
He did around 70 to 90 dps on them. When he was level 15. Now hes higher …
He literally eats enemys for breakfeast xD.

Ohh did i mention. You Pet Companion can be used BY ALL your characters!
The god thing is, you cant afk level. The pet doesnt auto aggro. They would need to atk you xD or aggro the pet.
I havent seen anyone doing that yet.

SO if you become Hunter and you dont have enough money (300k silver) to buy a companion, the char is wasted right? ^^

YOU get a free Veldheir. The rat pet thing.

Worth 116k silver.

Any class that has pet skills, gets these free.
Like Falconer gets his falcon free.
And schwarz reiter gets velheider too.
The hognog something i dunno? Some swordman rider?

And to add.
Any of your chars can use that pet then.
I just laugh later at people, when i make a new char.

My level 1 cleric had an level 33 Velheider to carry her xD.
Who needs dpsler help (if no one wants to party at low levels). I got an pet that crits most enemys till level 20 to death.
Even the bosses are getting eaten by an Low Level Pet.
xD he got like 2,3k hp and 100+ atk. At level 33. And can be upgraded with money.

Oh VERY nice! so Hunter is veryyyy nice as a first char if you mind to fight and Lvling quite hard :))) Im so happy now, thanks all for your precisions :DD

Yes he is.
Velheider levels trough your GRIND kills and not trough quests.
So be prepared to grind for a bit till he’s in a acceptable level range.

But a good thing for hunter too is “coursing”.

Swift step+Corusing crit bonus= 62,5% more crit rate.
The cd is 10 seconds and it only works against a single target. Good for an crit boost against bosses or hard mobs.

Yep He is lvl 25 now :smiley: Im farming so he can xp well :smile:
What do you upgrade on him? I put money on HP then Attack, should I put money on def? or Critical rate?

Yep Saw it too, I wont get Coursing to lvl 5 cause I already have 85 critical rate on my Hunter :smiley: (Max Dex and Strength a bit) so with Swift Step lvl 5 attribute, I have like 95% of crit chance :))

Tip.

Crit rate isnt crit %!

I got 85 crit rate when swift step is on.
110 crit rate with corusing roughly.
And i only crit about 60~80%.

There’S crit resitance as stat too. You will need lots of crit rate, when you fight monsters higher leveld then yourself.
Which will happen quite fast, if you dont grind alot.

My pet is now nearly 60.
He got 4k hp.
170 atk.
50 phys def
70 magic def
soem acc
50 crit rate
160 evasion

I suggest putting money into HP, Eva and the def stats. You can add to atk too.
Go till about it costs 1k silver till he’s 60ish. After that you should first farm mor emoney for your own char.

He got even more eva then my 45 archer atm xD. I grinded alot with pyro … alot.
Had a channel to myself for 4 hours nearly. Or only 1~2 bad players who didnt kill much.
level 44 to 60 in 4 hours. Made roughly 150k silver? or more. I bought so much … there’s never enough.

Got 800 xxx cores xD. Tenet chapel is hard grind till 60. And i think i could do that till 80.
They give more xp/hour then doing the main quest route xD.
But i hear dmausoleum is better for 60+ … so i’m nearly there yet xD.

Yep I find out that crit rate isnt in % :confused: would be too easy haha

What skill did you max as a hunter? I think Praise is the worthier cause it longs better and is usefull when you want to DPS constantly :))

Yeah nice grinding haha but dunno if you can do the same thing as an Archer class :confused: not so efficient I guess!!

Im at Sirdgela Forst for now and lvl 57 so I think Mausoleum is near to meeee :smiley:

Mausuleum … is an 75+ area. They will murder you xD.

Afaik, you can grind till 63 at egnome easily.
Or simply hunt in an mobby area with mobs you can kill fast.

Mausuleum has low spawn rates and massive amounts of people farming there and questing.
And F5 which is good to farm … is 90+ enemys.

I can farm there with my 74 pyro linker, when i find an priest and an tank to mob.

About skills.
RUSH Dog is what i atm testing out.
It actually is really nice. As it seems that it is an AOE based atk. Still testing it … so not completly sure.
Praise is good overall, make your companion do more dps and crits.
Other than that “pointing at 1” and corusing at 3 should be taken as minimum.
Corusing gives TRUE Crit %! I finally verified it!

Swiftstep increases your crit rate by 5% per attribute.
But coursing increases your crit chance, your truly natural crit chance simply +30%.
That’s why my crit improved so much, when i used corusing against high resitance enemys.

Interesting is also.
That the crit atk of your companion seems to be somehwat … uncertain.
I stil think it’s only 1,5 times the normal atk.
But i do 600 atk with rushdog at level 1.
But it critted for 1100…

Dunno even what type of atk he does… neutral? Slashing? stabing?

I have questions too, do the priest buffs (and other classes buffs too?) apply to pets and what happens if I delete my hunter after getting the pet, will I still have it for my other chars?.

for the rush dog the dmg of the companion is added to the dmg of the skill
it’s like x3 the base atk dmg + dmg of the skill

Sadly not … pets dont get buffs, as far as i have seen it.
Cant link them with pyro too.

Hmm yeah.

I tested rush dog a bit.

After doing a few mob tests with low level mobs. I did higher level mobs.
Overall the AOE ratio is around 4. Means you can hit 4 enemys at once, if they’re before your pet.

Aiming is a bit difficult. As you either need to stand still and be close to your companion to instantly do the atk.
Or you need to be in range of your normal basic atk, to make him rush towards the mobs.
Doing the skill while being in atk animation of the pet, it will be delayed a bit.

BUT here comes the most improtant thing.
The rushdog skill activates at about each 3~5 basic hit of your pet!
I never realized, because i kept killing stuff so swiftly.

Made an short video in Teenet chapel and before the hunter trainer.

just did a quest where your supposed to destroy some altar you do only 1 damage to the altar but the dog do full damage … that skill may deal true damage. i’m not sure about that
and one thing i’ve noticed in an another post there was a video showing an archer (without any rank in hunter or falconer) with 2 PET ! the falcon and the vel… the lovely rat dont know if you can get the mounted one that would be sweet to get the 3 of them (allready try with another rat it didn’t work might be a restriction about the type of pet). we have to test !! but for now … have to farm xD

Yep, same as you, I first maxed Praise so the duration is highly increased and the pet can be buffed during the whole time against a boss, it isnt negligeable :)) Then I maxed Rush Dog for the simple thing of the “auto-activation” of the skill which you are talking about in your video :))
