Collar Bomb Question

Can anyone explain to me how is the Collar Bomb supposed to work? I’ve tried it out and here’s what usually happens:

-Bomb misses the mob
-Bomb hits a different mob than the targeted mob
-Bomb does not detonate even though the mob with the bomb walks into another mob
-Bomb does not detonate even when it is attached to another mob that is already in a crowd (speaking of 2-3 drakes overlaying on top of each other)
-Bomb disappears when mobs collide
-Bomb disappears along with one other mob but the mob that had the bomb did not die and no loot is left from the disappeared mob

I’ve then tested it out on the poor Hanamings and Infrorocktors in the starting map. The Hanamings exploded. The Infrorocktors did the above list. Sadly no screenshots or videos as they sort of bugged out when I was testing the bombs and didn’t activate until I changed maps a few times.

Is there a bug, or am I using it wrong? I only have 1 point in it as I didn’t want to waste points that could be invested in the Broom Trap the instant I got c3.

I’ve noticed this happen but only with flying creatures!

Collar bomb seems to require you to be fairly close for the ability to actually do anything other than eat your SP and go on cooldown!

I’d definitely like to see some QoL / utility changes for Sapper in general though.

Definitely would like the other traps to have more utility than now, but with the Broom Trap, I’m quite happy with Sapper. As long as the Collar Bomb starts working.

I’ll try getting videos of these issues and see if it’s something I’m doing wrong or just the skill.

Collar bomb is so damn broken I got sapper c2 yesterday and the ability works like 10% of the time

Collar Bomb works on melee range, sometimes mobs can resist it. Doesn’t work on flying mobs.

Usually works for me when the other mob collides with the red spheres rather than the colliding with the afflicted one.

Otherwise, buggy as hell and needs some love.

On sapper 1, I only maxedd claymore and stakes, so I had 5 extra points left. I levelled collar bomb to see the attribute, and accidentally locked it in because I’m a noob.

It works fine against fliers.
You MUST be in melee+facing the target for it to work. Since levellling the skill i havent had it fail on me since following these guidlines.

It could be more consistent.

It attaches the bomb just fine to fliers, whether it’ll explode or not as you kite them into one another is another story. Larger creatures seem to have less problems activating the bombs.

Wish this had an attribute to just explode after X seconds / or detonate a bomb per hit, suddenly would be a lot more useful.
