People like to min-max. I played Phantasy Star Online, which allow a super flexible class build, as long as you grind the class level, you can switch at anytime free of cost. At end game, people usually just stick to a couple of builds in each tree (fighter/gunner/mage), but they grinded everything just in case.
Iâve played FF. Both mmos, and a decent amount of the flagship titles and spin offs. I really like FFâs class system. However, it wouldnât work in ToS. The exp earned and required in the game would have to be completely rethought to not make the progression be completely screwed up. And thatâs just not a reasonable solution.
Itâs not impossible. I gave 4 potential solutions to the class XP problem. Full respecs are definitely an awful idea if you give the player full customization.
Again, this is all just wishful thinking. Thereâs no way this would be implemented any time soon if ever. Feel free and come up with a better respec solution if you have one.
Iâm a big fan of this idea, nice work.
- You still have 3 other class types it hasnât effected at all.
- Max leveling 4 characters is more than most players will ever do, so it doesnât hurt game longevity.
- Similar effort is expended to unlock a new class.
- The reset a lot of people are asking for is resolved.
- Transitioning between builds could still be fairly restricted.
You would have specialized equipment, attributes, circle selection and skill point placement. If youâre worried that people can be the same build as you, they can already. If youâre worried changing builds rapidly is too much of a jump:
There are plenty of ways to build on this idea, but all you seem to do in every post is trash talk it because it isnât what you want, yet you offer no solution to the clearly high number of players who are requesting a feature like this.
Iâm not saying lets have some ridiculous âbuild editorâ of a feature, but constructive feedback with the goal of working towards a solution would be appreciated.
