[Class] Druid Class Thread

On a small skirmish before maint tonight i noticed this little bug:

  • If you use Transform before being Telepath then you can still use any of your monster skills, while the enemy druid can move you around.

This probably will be fixed on the R8 patch that combines monster skill set with our normal skill set. But still … info is info :'D

Hey guys, if you take transformation as flying mob, will you be flying as well?
And immune to ground skills such as sialuai mission’s golem aoe attack?

Nope.
Probably for the best, since heal and sterea trofh are both ground skills.

Bit of a general update:

I realized lump of crystal, Alchemy Table and Workbench are not exclusive to change.
Crystal mine Lot 2 - 1F has the crystal and Barha Forest the other two. Or see post 3 for the locations.)

Ruklys Street is quite good for change testing. No ambush mobs and the petrified soldiers will keep the mobs busy. (Still get reset occasionally, but not as often.)

  • Sword Pell is a bit of a troll option for oracle. The mob takes 1 dmg a hit and has 10k health. Have fun killing that.

  • Panto Shaman has 2x 200 heal tiles that it can spam. But they’re the same color as regular heal tiles.

  • I noticed Leafly’s recover health with their 2 attack skills and retain a heal buff from doing so. Need to test it more later with a phys build and after the r8 upgrade to transformations.

And please stop killing oracle only mobs when a druid or oracle is standing next to them.
They’re usually not dead for a specific reason…

That + the channel reset is really annoying me atm.

Do you mean, if the channel goes to 0 people on it, then it “dissapears” until someone enters again?

That may explain several changed monster i’ve lost. Tenants Farm always had bots that keep the channel alive …

Not always, but very often yes.

I just lost two chances to test a Terapede in a row due to channel resets.
(It’s quite obvious on ruklys street, even the statues reset to their original places.)

Time to find a new spot I guess.

Just gonna throw it out here that the “Channel Reset” you are talking about happens in almost every mmorpg (except really old school ones).

It’s called dynamic loading of npcs / mobs. If there are no people inside a map/channel, it makes no sense to keep npcs / mobs loaded onto server memory and take processing resources.

Usually when you leave a channel, a timer will start, and once that timer reaches a certain limit (defined by ToS developers, but usually 5 min or 10 min) the server will deallocate those npcs structures from memory.

EDIT: I’m not sure about this, but if ToS is really stupidly coded, maybe you can keep a channel from being deallocated by placing a player shop in it (Pardoner, Squire, etc).

I know.

It just happens too quickly. Both my druid & oracle are in the same map and the switch doesn’t even take a minute.
But occasionally it does reset within that time period.

I think IMC simply used a shortcut and simply checks every x minutes whether or not a channel is empty and resets if it is.

ps: 50% smaller vikaras mage:

Medium size, only 1 skill. Junk as usual.

Edit:

  • Toy hammer works with the medium panto’s 10 hit attack skill. Only 3k dmg in total on a int build though. Can someone confirm it’s str scaling?

Second Edit:
Thanks Greyheim, that’s actually quite good. But I can’t think of a build where it’s a huge advantage atm.
(Aside of full str druid3 which isn’t even good atm.)

Toy Hammer does seem as a best in slot for any physical druid build then.
Still decent for monks as well for the same reason.

If anyone is interested on farming Hanaming (Heal Gem) or Vubbe Thief (Cure Gem) for your druids. Get a friend alch to do a short awakening on any item and look for the Outer World Spearman Panto.

It’s not an elite monster. but it’s 3rd skill shoots several projectiles aimed to the current location of enemies on a BIG aoe (a bit more than the screen) Perfect to farm small enemies within our Physical Damage (you can equip a sword or a mace - Arde dagger applies to the damage too)

My current kill per hour is: 1200 hanaming per hour.

Edit: More info:

  • Transform lvl 5 = 100s duration
With divine might i just have 10s downtime.

I will confirm toy hammer will deal an explosion on your 10th hit.
The explosion causes 5 hits, each hit will deal 450% of your Physical Attack. It is possible to crit, crit is rolled per hit.

Wow, that’s a nice trick when farming hanaming. I’ve killed all of them autoattacking and it took me a little over 4000 kills :frowning:

Did you ever run see Cire , Fan Control Device or Abandoned Wagon from change?

I think these are the only 3 I’m missing right now, but I’m not even sure I can spawn them to begin with.

I’ve definetly see Cire several times. The others not at all.

Cire only has normal melee attacks.

Thanks, I’ll try to catch a Cire later then.
Tired of spamming change for now.

Imagine running around as an abandoned wagon.

I always wanted to be a weretable. So thank you for this input. I noticed that you need to use Chortasmata (Plant-type attribute change) before Shapeshift so that the transformation would work. I forgot to check, but I think workbench monsters are mutant-type mobs.

Need to know What type of werewolf skills (strike/slash/pierce) ?
Imagine a magic caster that also got benefit from allies melee-physical buff (Miko-dance,… ) and those type multiplier skills (monk God Finger Flick?, …) and defense reduction.

Haven’t seen any confirmation or direct testing on that subject.

Closest I found is: https://youtu.be/uYolWN8oeXc
Only shows a dmg penalty vs shadowgaler, and no bonus dmg at all.

I’m inclined to say it’s untyped physical, It simply doesn’t fluctuate enough for it to be pierce, blunt or slash.
And shadowgaler should be ghost armor in that case, not cloth.

But take that with a grain of salt, after all this is just an educated guess.

Hello guys! I’m here again o/

I’m looking for ideas for a high physical damage (maybe not dex? or yes dex? im not sure) Druid3.

The main reason being the desire to test Physical dps transformations.

A build that wont be a pain to level/quest would be desirable too.

I’m currently leveling a slightly tweaked high dex variant of this build: (also listed in post 2.)

I tossed out deprot zone since I plan on using a hammer for the diev attribute. Put fade to 5 and safety zone to 9.

You don’t really need monk though, esp if you find good monster skills or use werewolf. But it should help with leveling a lot.

Statwise I wanted to test full dex with a small transformation, see if it can reach that 85% crit cap.

A str/dex hybrid likely wins out dmg wise due to the dex/crit rate boosts.

Wouldn’t recommend str as I expect it will fall off quite badly in r9 & 10, though the medium oracle panto’s 10 hit skill + full str + toy hammer should be nice.

Definitly a unique build
