Chat concerns: Needs fixing

Chat issues:

Sticky Chat Input: Either remove the fact that the chat bar stays after each sending of a message, or allow it to be a configurable option in settings.

Previous messages: I would like the ability to go to previous sent messages with the up arrow key while in a chat box, just like RO. The inability to do this is especially annoying after having the whole sentence get filtered by a random profanity filter, and having to type your message over and over to find out what got filtered. Which brings me to…

Profanity Filter: This thing is legit awful. The regular expressions are extremely strict, and the fact that the entire message is filtered to “**” provides a barrier to communication.

  • First, the regular expression for checking banned words should be
fixed: words like basement, class, panties(why is this filtered?),
and assess should not be countered as swears. Yet they are
because they contain banned words within them.

  • Second, instead of making the entire sentence a ** after having a
swear word, only filter the word itself instead of deleting the
    content of the message.

  • Third, I don’t know if this is possible because I rarely EVER see
F2P games have this option (only subscription), but it’d be nice to
have the option to turn off the swear filter.

Stick to Chat Settings: I am constantly annoyed that I have to continuously type /p to go back to party chat settings, despite never having typed in normal chat ever. Please make it so that your chat settings only change if you TELL them to change.

  • I also have continuously run into the problem of clicking various
NPCs, and when I go to chat, it will say I am whispering to a very
long number (assuming that is the NPC’s id). This is annoying.

  • Also, whenever I alt+tab, I ALWAYS go back to All chat window
instead of party chat. This is also very annoying.

Chat clearing: Every time I zone, my chat clears, so I have no idea what my party has said. Please keep the chat logs in the window regardless of zoning.
