wow these lancer skills xD so far i like the buff, unhorsing, Quaintain, joust, crush. headstrike seems kinda meh.

Because GUARD can block archer and lancer is awesome vs magic.
But then, i see lancer doesnt have one hand spear attribute, so i cant just press C outta nowhere, need to change weapon first.
Is this build make sense?

Oh so lancer dont have 1 hand. It is hard to always swap and swash hp disspears when you unequip your shield

As tempting as Dragoon2ās damage improvement is, I think Iām going Lancer.
Serpentineās attribute seems to be a debuff to a target rather than a self-buff (which was a bit expected since itās an attack skill). No wonder the preview states that it āimproves damage of p.atk party membersā or something like that. It wasnāt a buff on the party, but rather a debuff on a target enemy.
Iām honestly disappointed with Dragoon2 at the moment.
###Dragoon1 > Lancer
Catagoon seems to be the best route for Lancer since Lancer skills require 2H spear to use. Not sure if this will be changed in the future to allow spear-shield. As of now, this means all your cata and dragoon skill/attribute bonuses related to 2H spear will carry.
Serpentineās really good even at lv.5 w/ decent bleeding proc and with restrain it just almost always stuns.
Iām loving Dragon Soar (Iām maxing it next to Serpentine). The 25% shock debuff chance attribute is really good - in case you didnāt know, itās -50% to the enemyās INT and SPR for 10 seconds - tried and tested.
Until they improve Gae Bulgās targetting mechanic, I think the remaining 5 points will get dumped into Dragontooth.
###Why Lancer?
30% knockdown chance attribute when basic attacking. Basic attacking is an important mechanic in TBL, especially against opponents with R7F on.
As for the active skills (considering you only get to spend 15 points in total):

Crush - it the p.atk and def reduction is incremented by skill level, this is worth maxing out. Also, āDisplaces summoned objectsā - dievs gonna have a hard time now. Otherwise, we could pick this up at lv.1 for utility or not at all.

Head Strike - Another stun skill because why not?
Hope itās not another Steed Charge where you had to charge it and be stuck in place until released. If itās not, could be worth to pick at lv.1 for utililty. -
Joust - the anti-mage! The INT and m.atk reduc seems lackluster (Dragon Soarās shock seems better, unless this oneās % and not just flat 10+skill lvl). The 15-second silence debuff and magic circle destruction is the core of this skill. Dash range is good too, great for closing in. Looks like a charged skill so I hope we can cast this while running ala Doom Rush. Could be worth maxing.

Quaintain - Not much info but looks like a 2-hit skill based on video. First hit causes debuff so 2nd hit deals higher damage (about 130-140% increase)? Damage looks promising. Could be a great burst and seems to be insta-cast (not charged). Could be worth maxing.

Unhorsing - no-brainer, great against SRs, Hackapells, fellow Catas and Lancers. Unhorse + kill pet (so it gets stunned) + impale rider and carry him away. 1 point could be enough.

Deployment - a situational skill since not everyone will wear shields. The image below though seems to show that this buff improves our resistance to elemental attacks/debuffs? Could be worth maxing considering the high CD (54s) as it gives 25s duration at lv.5, nearly 50% uptime.

Thatās it! In theory, my skill distribution could be like this:
Crush = 1
Head Strike = 0
Joust = 5
Quaintain = 5
Unhorsing = 1
Deployment = 3 (or make this 5 and take off 2 points from Joust)
Damn, thatās 5 new skills. Right now Iām still adjusting to having included the Dragoon skills I just got since I really got used to the Sword3Cata3 skill set.

Considering Doom Spikeās higher CD and casting time compared to E.Wave, I think I might drop it in the future and go impale lv.10 for the luls. Hahaha
I could do a combo like KD > joust > KD > Crush > KD > Quaintain > Impale > Rush > repeat from step 1 (if enemy is still alive). Goon skills will be used situationally or as fillers.
Iām really glad Lancer still has a burst skill (Quaintain) as I originally though itād be mostly defensive and disruptive.
iāll leave my doomspike at 1 point xD since KDs are awesome in pvp + i can poke a cleric camper at a lil distance.
iām trying to master the dragoon skills now lol, Dragon Soarās range messes me up >.< Trying to pull off all the skills smoothly in PvP is tough xD but Iām up to the challenge \o/ Dragontooth is amazing, when i get a nice stun or KD itās my go to skill. Doom Spike really taking a back seat most of the time, same with steed charge, but I think Iāll get rid of steed charge

Iāve picked Steed Charge before but gotten rid of it after a skill reset. Itās just not what we expect it to be (stuck in place, charge time).
I prefer to focus on leveling Serpentine and Dragon Soar first over D.Tooth as I tend to use those 2 skills more as theyāre instacast and also ācancellableā mid-animation which means no aftercast stickyness. Itās too risky to stay in one place for more than a few seconds inside the TBL arena.
Looking at the Wizard skills, I can already see a nerf in their future for TBL lmao

If my rush is on cd. I just e wave kd then Go serpentine. Some archer are 100 to 0 in 1 serpentineā¦if you hit them though. If still alive soar. If they managed to run .dragon tooth. Tooth has a long range surprisingly
Dragontooth is way faster than serpentine tho in terms of damage delivery + it has a longr range so you can get the target bfore dragon soar would lol at least at lvl 1 I cant say for higher lvls,
The only thing you have to do is aim it properly xD
I almost 1 shotted a few wizards and archers with it before they knew wat was goin on lol. Just need to have your timing down.
Either Iām bad at timing and positioning, or high-rank archers and wiz love their catas staying in place for ez CC drop.

I will still eventually pickup D.tooth though as @ijbest suggested. Range is really good. Itās just that most situation Iām in when doing TBL doesnāt open any opportunity to use it effectively - maybe when the enemies are bundled up together in a MF or something - but oftentimes I miss, or Iām CCāed, or dead. Makes it easier for them to Dark Theurge you to death.
Good wiz/archers knows that a cata in range is deadly so they will try to counter any of our attempt to close in.

Tbh i think sw3 cata3 goon should go into lancer. It seems like the premier PvP class.
For us sw2 pelt cata3 goon we can go into either goon2 or lancer i think depending on whether lancer allows 1h spear + shield.
Both classes looking sharp though for PvP.
i dunno if its just me but seems like a cata3 goon2 is anti physical and cata3 goon lancer is anti magic. Which means if played well the cata3 goon2 could kill the cata3 goon lancer in PvP.
