You probably won’t have any problem until storage, where rush can’t kill mobs anymore

I would prefer a circle of hoplite over corsair, that gives your shield + 1h spear, plus 2 strong skills. Dragoon is just preparation for c2. If you want to go lancer then you can choose hoplite

Hoplite feels more for PvE than anything. Finestra is nice for the aoe ratio and block chance but that’s about it. The damage on Stabbing is pretty meh unless the target takes the full thing not to mention the static nature of it and short range.
It also takes a few seconds for stabbing to actually finish which is kinda meh…
You could dish out a lot more damage with Dragoon at a faster pace and all the usefull dragoon skills have a shorter cooldown than stabbing.
Hoplite feels like it’s just preparation for Hoplite2

lol ikr, the cringe is real with corsair 1

Wait for ktos rank 8 info in a few days.

Once info is out, decision between dragoon2 or lancer would basically decide r7 too.

Imo for pvp, i am hoping lancer is our savior. We need anti cleric/wiz skills WAY too much. Even if dragoon3 end up with 15 hits dragon tooth, i dont think it would be enough… Assuming dragon tooth increase in hits (which i hope they do… Then swordie get at least one real dps class for pve).

me too if your going for pvp i prefer corsair1 than hoplite.
the hook it self is made for pvp, it helps your team to set up skills before hook ends up. but when you get corsair your will be force to get lancer than dragoonc2.

Hey guys -

Finally gave in and turned Dragoon earlier.

Leveled class up to 4 to get and test each skill.

Made a quick comparison of each skill’s max range, damage and overall usefulness at the moment:

  1. Dragontooth - I don’t like this skill even though it has knockdown. It locks you into place while charging (unlike cata’s doom spike for example). Damage is OK, but nothing that’s gonna make you say “whoaaaa”. Second longest range next to Gae Bulg. Best estimate to land at max range is make sure your enemy is exactly inbetween you and the edge of your screen. Will probably let sit at lv.1 and use as emergency knockdown (when everything else is on CD). Could be OK in PVE.

  2. Serpentine’s good, IMO the best skill in the rank. Procs bleeding by chance which synergizes well with Sword3’s double slash. About 2/3 of Dragontooth’s range (imagine someone inbetween you and the enemy). Seems to hit about 7 times so better proc chance for restrain as well.

  3. Dragon Soar = meh damage, meh “shock” debuff. Sword range. No CC. Just for cools. Will probably skill reset later just to remove this and spend point elsewhere.

  4. Gae Bulg = longest range (since it’s a throw skill). The red circle means it’s AOE on impact. The green arrow means where your spear will eventually land and stay (it bounces a few times from impact til it gets there). Damage is only inflicted ONCE on impact. Damage seems meh, even if it has the highest base damage of all 4 skills. You need to pick spear up or you’ll have to deal with 50% damage penalty for about 30 seconds which by then the spear will auto-return. Will probably max to 5 for PVE and situational use in PVP.

That’s 4 unused skill points at class lv.15. Will probably just save it up for R8 Goon2.

In TBL, I tend to use Serpentine and Gae Bulg the most.

That’s what I’ve noticed for now. Things will probably change later on.

Dragon tooth doesn’t knock down. It deals 6 hits so it scales well, and it has quick charge time (0.5 sec per level)

Serpentine deals 7 hits, and with the +100% physical damage attribute at c2, of course you want it. One thing I don’t know is whether the chance to bleed goes up with level or not.

Dragon soar looks meh, but it still deals 5 hits, so it’s like a filler. 1 level is enough until they fix it and make it launch stuff

Gae bulg is crap. I gonna reset it when R8 comes out and it has no changes

Gae bulg has a debuff to enemies, reduce their physical resistance, leave it at lv 1

Barb getting buffed with their hitbox become wider, and yet, we’re here with unused spear atk range when using skills

Weird because I really KDed that one guy I tested it with. Might have confused it with another skill. I will try it again later.

Are all goon skills (except for gae bulg) true multihit? Or are they like e.wave where the damage is just split?

I still use my cata skills mostly. I’m glad we have this kind of build where our low rank skills don’t go obsolete or overshadowed as we go up higher ranks.

In order to make use of that debuff you need to max Gae bulg, since level 1 debuff only last 4 seconds, and you need to run in and pick up the spear behind the enemies, wasting 2 seconds already. That’s why it’s crap

Yes, all are true multihit, with today patch they will scale well with my level 15 concentrate xD

Eh, more reason for me to reset my skills then.

fun until you meet a high dex archer with evasion buffs lol xD

Even with high STR or hybrid builds, good high CON wiz/clerics are just too hard to kill by ourselves. This makes cata teamplay the only option (pick n gank, pick n isolate, KD fest). Tough life.

depends on the type of wiz/cleric

So did our rush got nerfed? I personally dont experience that doible damage error? or? what? I cant believe they will update this tomorrow. I thought it will be atleast 3 months haha
