Yeah, it does miss even when attribute is on. Could be that it’s not purely elemental, maybe a portion of the damage.
Wiki says Earth property attacks is reduced by Poison def (?). Not quite sure how that translates in-game.

To be honest, I don’t even see the point in having it lol. We should ask the devs to change it into something better.
By the way, is 217 dungeon worth doing full runs? Are there a lot of people queueing for it? Or should I just eat some exp cards and quest my way to R7?
I remember it to be pretty good exp. Safe to help grind u to 230ish.
Earth property only good for pve some time against lightning mobs. In pvp it would lose 50% vs plate, and no one is lightning element.
Also r7f have a big sign (3 rune letters) on players’ head, look for it when ur own kab cast it. Absolutely learn what it look like so u know whether to release ur skill or poke.
Anyone have 2 pcs of Blue Harugal Mane? SEA Telsiai - buying it for 5 talt each.
I still had my 50% to plate even with earth property on
Same dmg in pvp? I remember testing it and losing the 50%
Unless memory fail me.
Nope, just grind alemeth
So I go into 2v2 LOL this FLETCHER guy “warps” or something from Orsha said Cataphracts are getting too ccky. Told me i’m the reason he drops in rank. We get into an argument.
Basically he’s calling me bad, blaming me now for us losing to a Kabbalist/Oracle+Catagoon and I’m like dude i was ranked 3rd before.
So he uses cloaking and hides the whole time while I’m trying to 2v1 basically. He’s like “go mr 3rd” and continues to talk bad about me.
I told him “you could never beat me,” and he told me i’m just a Broadhead. So after a while he’s on the enemy side, tries to Cloaking then Broadhead and run away with Camouflage… Enjoyed killing him and winning. lol
I really hope they balance PvP more so guys like him get shut down more xD
I don’t know how people think they’re great at pvp from using 1 OP bleed skill then running away.
Kinda had to rank up in SEA now, typical weekend. The usual clerics and wizards have climbed up.
I don’t see any change of block penetrate between equipe and unequipe my 2-handed spear.
Is it a bug or i missed something here?
It’s bugged
Lol, sad swordman life when everything can kill you from half screen away
Damn, today is just bad, I keep getting 3-swordmen team vs a premade team of 1 cata + 1 healer + 1 CC + 2 DPS
Nice. Getting those 1 hit wonder skill fletchers.especially the cocky ones
Lol. Time will come that will be nerfed. Even a 1st grader kid can kill with that op skill. Your a either a retard or no hands if you cant kill with that stupid skill.

I asked a similar question in another thread a few days ago and the answer I got, while contradictory to what I’ve had in mind, has changed my view about that build (Corsair Lancer).
You take 3 ranks in Cata, a class built arond mobility - rushing in and out of battle quickly, breaking formations. When you use a skill that binds you in place, even if it immobilizes enemies too, you loose a big advantage, a significant fraction of the reason why you took that 3 ranks - mobility - and you make yourself vulnerable to attacks outside of those you hooked.
While it seems OP in theory (and sometimes in practice as I’ve seen) when in 2v2 or 1v1, eventually you’ll want to test yourself in 5v5 and other large scale PVP events where a skilled cata really shines.
If your resolve in using it only for PVE is really strong, then go ahead and be creative with your builds. Once there was a wiz who took different classes for each rank (yes, freaking 7-class build lmao) and he really had fun with it PVE-wise.
With any swordsman class you pick your poison.
Hook and Jolly are nice. Being able to CC up to 3 targets is great. The problem is do you have the follow up damage to put it to good use. Jolly roger is nice in PvE and the chance to negate an attack in pvp is nice too, but I don’t think you can stay mounted to use it.
Dragoon has great attacking skills and being able to have a bit extra block chance from using a 1h spear and shield is nice. However it’s ranges on those skills are bad. The range doesn’t matter too much for killing some bosses and monsters but in PvP you’ll always miss a few skills unless the target is CC’d or doesn’t move out of the way by means of jumping etc…
From my experience only having Cataphract skills to attack isn’t enough if you’re constantly attacking. In a lot of situations you’ll run out of things to use lol. Dragoon can bridge the gap by adding 3 more attacks. Corsair can bridge it by letting you wait on some CDs with Iron hook.
Personally, I’ll choose Dragoon because I’m unsure how good rank8 skills will be. I don’t know if the attacks and utility from Lancer will be able to outshine the dps of Dragoon2.
With Iron Hook… you might hook nothing but air in pvp lol or you might hook a bunch of companions or someone who doesn’t mind being hooked. If that happens you’re whole Corsair skill set is useless for 25 seconds.
I 2v2’d with a Catasair (lol) on my team. If I died, his hook was seemingly useless, the enemy had time to refresh their skills and think of ways they’re going to kill him. lol
You can unmount and drop it, then remount.
Agree, it has great potential in PVP too.
Clearly, these wizes, archers and clerics who complain that Rush is OP are ones who haven’t really braced the top 10.
For wizes and clerics, they have shitton of CC and counter skills in their hands.
If I was an archer, I won’t stray too far away from my team knowing there’s an enemy cata waiting to impale, KD or rush me. It’ll improve my chances of surviving those attacks by having access to heals and counter-CCs from allies nearby. QS pavise can completely negate e.wave or nearly any attack from full 180degrees in front of it. Hunters can lock us down completely. Wugu and fletchers are no-brainers. Hell, it’s not even a problem if I have really high evasion since even cata skills can miss.
They seriously need to stop joining TBLs for a while and just spectate high-rank matches, study how these top-ranking players disables us cata before we can even close in.
The problems are:
If you have Trot and dismount no more Trot until its off CD.
You could place 1 wait the CD time of Trot then place another, but in that time maybe your companion gets hit by a skill and you can’t mount again then all your cataphract skills are gone until you find a way to get bkon.
