Can you please remove the censure?

It would not be the first time we write a big paragraph or sentence and it gets censored by a simple word like, for example, “class”, which is a word that can be used to refer to class level (which is a content of the game).

I don’t know in other languages but in spanish, many words which have no offensive intention are just censored, making it sometimes difficult to communicate.

I consider this censure method as useless. Why?

  • Nowadays, even the younger kids found in a game, are not offended by reading insults to them or their family. Because this is a game and those words have no value.
  • We have block function. In case we are offended by someone, we can just block them and does it all.

Removing this censure method we could communicate better between each other and we won’t have to worry about anymore about writing a paragraph seeing ** after all this one.

Share your thoughts and like the post if you think the same to make them remove this.

I’m not a fan of the censoring either. All it does is make communicating very hard. I can’t count how many times I’ve written a full paragraph to someone in a private chat only to have everything I wrote send as a “…” or just not send because I used a word that the censoring system THINKS was profanity.

Like class - cl ass. The censor system sees ‘ass’ in there and thinks it’s profanity because of it.

This game has literally a 5 year old censoring system. Who is their target audience anyways? Preschoolers?

Can’t go 5 seconds without seeing a panty shot in the game but the word ‘ass’ is bad? Yeah, right.

Not remove, but add an option to disable profanity filter like Blizzard does for it’s games. Keep it on as default, but let users choose what they wanna read.

The filter checks for a space behind the word but it does not check for a space in front of the word. That’s the main thing that needs to be fixed about the filter.

Anyway i don’t think a whole paragraph has to be censored because of writing “ass”. Because you can be talking in a joking way with a friend or something.
Basically the ideas are to remove it or to make it able to be deactivated.

It just pains me to see things this inefficient in a game because I am a programmer and that makes this bother me a lot. How can people program things that are this bad in an actual marketable product?

I could understand a programmer playing around in his/her free time trying to learn how to write code but…

Even if your boss is telling you to hurry the hell up and not spend any time on it. You should take enough pride in your code to sell your idea to get an hour or more of your time to do something more efficiently?

Again… I just don’t get it.

Oh yeah, it is so troublesome. Same for German…

I can’t write in english, because I get censored, and I can’t write in german, because I get censored, too ._.

The worst Filter expirience for me was:

I was looking for a Hanaming Gem (Heal +1) on the starter map with my 180+ Chara.
A newbie came and asked me some question.
I wanted to answer him/her, and typed half a roman. But as soon as I pressed enter all he/she could see was - me saying: " * * "

I was so ashamed. I must have typed ANY (game related) word that got filtered. And instead of JUST filtering THAT word, it filtered the whole text… And made it look like I insulted him/her!!!

Before I could even say Sorry, that person logged of/changed channel/ teleported away.

Nice. I was feeling bad, that person was feeling bad…

if they can’t and will never ever turn of censure at least make it look like how it was done here in forum … just like this ■■■■ you. <-------

only the word that was suppose to be censored must be omitted.

Notably, it already works like this in shouts. So the coding must already be there.

Just used as an example. I’ve been away from MMOs for a good time, so I can’t say that about others.

This filter is ■■■■■■■ pathetic, annoying as ■■■■ and completely useless.
