Can you give me some advice?

If i’m not wrong phys damage skill can miss but not magical damage skill, but let’s wait for Fate to confirm :D.

Don’t have to wait on me! You are correct :sunny:

Magic can not miss, physical can miss, based on the evasion of your opponent vs your accuracy. Skills also fall under this.

So you need some DEX to be able to hit players that have high DEX (usually archers).

Fate, I got a question about Archer. Is it worth it to level up Oblique Shot? Or can i keep it at level 1 so I can spam the hell out of it? And what’s a good Rank 3 class if I’m going Archer > Archer C2 > ??? > Wugushi/Scout > Wugushi C2/Rogue > Wugushi C3/Rogue C2?

I don’t like the fact that magic is unavoidable. I hope they will change it in the future.

There was this one dreadful place…T-that level 150 Cathedral dungeon. It had SO many mobs with homing magic missiles… It’s left me so scarred…

Oblique shot is amazing, and you’ll likely overkill things for quite awhile if you level it and keep going Archer.

I’m not the best person to ask about the Archer class sadly, as all my knowledge is from my friends that I played with, for the Archer class.

Just keep in mind oblique shot will eat your SP very fast, so you need lots of potions.

Maybe, but magic can not crit, while physical attacks can crit.

Exactly the reason why I was thinking of keeping it at level 1 forever. Since SP cost scales with levels. D:

I think that it’s actually fine that Magic doesn’t miss since they never do critical attacks and seeing as how a lot of physical classes that are crit based do a TON of damage, it kinda defeats the purpose since any magic caster will then need to build for DEX and the only thing they get from it is Evasion.

If anything, I think that this would lead to all builds having DEX to some extent because it’s just that prevalent in all of the physical builds with magic casters not gaining any of the benefit from it.

Yeah well how are you gonna tank all this magic damage if it’s unavoidable? and not just as swordie, but as archer too.

For magic damage to be effective, you’d need quite a lot of INT, and would have to sacrifice CON, as well as CON not scaling very highly for wizards, compared to other classes.

CON scales nicely on swordies/clerics, not to sure about archers, so you get a lot of HP to tank magic damage.

There is also magic defense shields (although Arena PvP uses standardized gear, maybe future types of PvP allow you to use your own gear?)

Like you said, tank it with CON, get more Magic Defense with SPR or equipment since there are good shields with elemental defense. Magic can’t crit so if you get enough magic defense, you’re basically set. I don’t think that generally you’d be going 0 CON in any build since mobs also have their own unavoidable attacks like the OP Archer mobs that have heat-seeking arrows at a ridiculous hit rate.

And even then magic would generally be the least of your worries since Archer’s have a longer range AFAIK and they can crit harder than a Wiz can damage you. They also have to set up more to do their damage in the first place with either casting time, getting right in front of the enemy to hit them, or placing their skill on the floor and waiting for an enemy to walk into it. If they can instacast a skill at range, you can usually walk right out of the skill with no repercussions and just taking a bit of damage.

Are there any melee magic mobs or are they all strictly ranged?

Yeah I’ve played it. Been in iRO beta too, but I forgot most of the game. Just bits here and there.

Btw. I was checking at the world map in ToSbase, and I realised there are only three cities…
Is, is that really it ;w;?
Are there any news on more map zones? I doubt there will be, since the dungeon levels are already pretty high… (What is the top level a player can get? I read somewhere it was around 200, maybe? But perhaps they changed it…)
And granted, in ToSbase it says “World map”. And they do seem to be really separated from each other.
But damn, I like it when fantasy games have different cities that actually have different feelings and inspirations…

And yes, the Golden Thief Bug card was really OP. Hopefully, they won’t add such an imbalanced thing in ToS.

The fact cards like Golden Thief Bug are so rare makes them unique. In a game of 100,000 people, if 1 guy had a GTB card it wouldn’t matter that much. Its something like Kirito with dual wield in SAO (if you watched that).

As longg as they make the drop rate obscenely low then it would be fine to have stuff like GTB or Ghostring cards i think. Adds more character to the game :stuck_out_tongue:

Golden Thief Bug card had a 0,01% of appearing, like any other card in the game.
And believe you me, there were many cards clearly underleveled when you compared them with the GTB card. And from stronger enemies, as well.
It’s a supply-demand kind of situation. You know getting a card from two enemies with the same properties (say, they only appear once every 30 minutes, and have similar stats) should take you more or less the same time (approximately, luck aside.) So, will you try to get a card like the GTB card, which nullifies all magic that’s applied to you, or something like the anacondaq card, which increases damage only on poison property enemies, and by 20%?
And the Anacondaq is 40 levels on top of the GTB.
I mean, sure, I get that it’s difficult to balance these things, but I’d rather not have something like that in this game.

Currently, based on the map which was somewhat datamined, yes there are 3 cities.

Will there be more? More than likely not.

The first 2 cities tend to house most of the major class NPC’s with some in the fields as well. Even then, the 2nd city, is quite small albeit pretty nice, with stairs and twisty roads and its own dungeon. The 2nd city didn’t even have some NPC’s such as the blacksmith, warehouse or auctioneer till much later actually.

For the most part, it feels like IMC is pushing for players to always come back to Klaipeda city, while having small outposts across the world, and no other actual major city, but this is just me speculating. I’ve no clue what the 3rd city will be like.

As for new maps, IMC did add new classes and new items into the files, and more recently I’ve noticed more map markers (the green arrow that signifies the entrance to another map) pop up, though they don’t work yet, so probably soon. They plan to have 350 levels for OBT so there is plenty of maps and content to come!

Hopefully IMC will implement one or two big cities with different culture and climate. Tristram is fine and all, but I like how in RO we had such a diverse world.
