Caltrop+Detonate (QS+Sapper) Does it works?

Title says it all

Can detonate explode caltrops? Can caltrop stays at least 4 when thrown on boss?
Any QS Sapper out there?

Edit: For the references, i meant these 2 skills

Caltrop do not detonate.

When thrown on flying bosses, it has no effect.
