As the title said, not sure how peltesta synergize with doppel since they need shield to taunt…
Highlander synergizes well with doppel, but for leveling purposes, Pelts level so much faster.
DG runs and alemeth/maven grinds are so so so much faster with a pelt. For me, highlanders doesnt offer much in late game.
Just weapon switch.
Is the highlander attribute that increase 50% crit attack worth it to be considered over pelt though?
Don’t go Peltasta, go Sw2 or Highlander. It’s not worth it for a slightly increase in leveling speed (most groups will have one pyrolinker that 1 shot everything anyways).
Just go sword2 barb3 doppel3

SW2 then pelt1. Pelt swashbucklilng increases Dopple DPS output by a lot.
There is 0 reason to go pelt you can just pick up an agro quest if you want taunt.
Yea, agro quest. Its good if youre heavily geared. Not good for newbie starting the game, specially rank 8 maps.
Pelt gives, Swash, Evasion both of which are good in PVE. Even in DG solo full clear like 290, Swash buckling reduces your clearing time by a lot.
Pelt is just for leveling speed. For people with limited gaming time like me. I dont have a lot of time to waste running around the room trying to gather mobs hopelessly. No other class can gather mobs like that, not even Cryos/linkers come close.
But having said that, if you have a lot of playing time (and patience) than I do, go for highlander. Better damage. I just dont have a lot of patience for leveling lol. That’s the only reason I got pelts for my swordies.

Highlander = better damage
DPS is damage per second. Running around gathering mobs requires time, which means it reduces your DPS if you needed to personally go to each mobs.
Thats why, having pelt gives dopple huge Damage per second.
Non-pelt swordsman probably good if you have static 5-man party baby sitting you all day like Akisera.
Thanks for the input guys, gonna go with peltesta since i dont have much playing time and the crit attack is probably not that good with a full dex build anyway 
Actually it’s quite the opposite, dex builds gain most from crit attack. Strength builds have high crit attack but non existant or low crit chance (that’s why yellow gems are so strong in your main weapon as dex builds).
Pelt is a mistake and if you dont have much playing time just play a pryo doppels need too much silver.
What does sw2 give anyway? I’ve been out since r8 came. Was there any buff for sw 2?
Just longer duration pain barrier and a buff that gives you a stun.
Two really geared/experienced Doppels I know prefer the pain barrier/stun or wish they didn’t go Highlander. Though personally I think Highlander is better thanks to 50% more crit damage, Crown (which is actually pretty good even high level) and a pretty decent block that doesn’t require a weapon swap.
Oh plus Cartar Stroke is actually super sick for leveling (I dono I just really like cartar stroke lol)

Here’s my opinion after trying out peltesta, i gotta say i kinda regret it for now.
There are 2 bugs(?) or interaction that really take the enjoyment that is weapon swapping sometimes doesnt work, so I cant really swap out my shield to taunt mid fight.
I also cant seem to equip my sword and shield together in the weapon swap slot, so whenever i swap to my shield i dont ahve any main hand weapon.
I’d say peltesta is pretty meh for barbarian so far, i’d take highlander if i had another chance, guess i’ll have to wait until i get to doppelsoeldner to see how it works with cyclone.

I have a SW2, Pelt1, HL1, Doppel and it works fine.
I took pelt because I got tired of circling dungeon rooms to collect mobs.
Yes, I have a Sword C3 as well with no pelt, and it’s significantly slower in leveling
But like others have already said, pelt wont make you stronger, it will just help you clear dungeons and maven grinds faster.
PS. “c” block of pelts will save your life during severe level gaps in missions or anywhere else

Doppel is a pure dmg cls you loose 50% dmg if you dont take HL.
And you loose a slash debuff if you dont take Barb…
Its not 50% more crit damage just 50% more of your crit attack stat. Catar Stroke is a great skill but i wouldn’t want to play doppel without restrain and barb3 just got so many buffs.[quote=“Valkoria, post:15, topic:353521”]

HL does not give 50% damage it just boosts your crit attack stat by 50% but you do need at least barb c1 for the cleave debuff.
