Burst from stealth + sustained damage compromise

I’m planning a musketeer build for dealing maximum burst damage from stealth:

Archer > Ranger 3 > Rogue > Scout > Musketeer

  • Ranger 3 for damage bonus on Steady Aim. Also, spam Critical Hit for some sustained damage.
  • Scout 1 for stealth.
  • Rogue 1 for critical bonus on Sneak Hit. That would allow me allocating more points into STR for additional burst damage while still achieving 90% crits when approaching enemies from behind without having to spend so many points into DEX. Also, capture seems a nice to have for PVP/GVG.

A variant of the above build would be to go for Fletcher 1 instead of Ranger 3:

Archer > Ranger 2 > Scout > Fletcher > Rogue > Musketeer

  • You would lose 5% burst damage from Steady Aim, but would reach a better sustained damage compromise with Bodkin Point and Barbed Arrow. Previous build was instead relying on Critical Hit for sustained damage.
  • This build should also enable a much more enjoyable PVE with Crossfire.

What is your experience with similar builds? Would you reecommend me going for Fletcher 1 instead of Ranger 3? Is it worth spending that many ranks into different circle-1 classes?

Yeah that was im thinking when a wizard or cleric charge a skill like the “metor” u just with cloaking and a high mov speed u are already behind and the little poor mage take oneshot from backstap x3

That’s the idea. Go into stealth, approach the enemy from behind and deal insane burst damage. Will be hard to master, but hopefully will result in a very fun and unique playstyle for PVP and GVG (similar to old nova in Heroes of the Storm).

ops i edit my last post read up

He isnt going for backstab.

Either build will work because you have the important pvp classes in there which are Rogue for the sneak hit/capture, scout for the cloaking and musketeer for damage.

I would go for the fletcher build though, it brings more damage through barbed arrow at least on cloths.
