Build Advice for Wugu?

I’m currently at an impasse with a character I’m making. Right now, my current plan is A1-Qs3-wugu3-mergen, because it looked very interesting to me (and is also one of the more popular ktos Archer builds). However, I’m considering dropping wug 3 in favor of Archer2 for the obvious reasons (crit rate on kneeling shot and swift step). I guess I’m asking if jincan gu and some extra levels on other wugu skills at circle 3 of wugu is better? It’s really the only choice I have left for the build.

Wugu 3 gives a few extra seconds on gu pot (like 2 or something), five more enemies to spread wugong gu with, and a bit more damage on needle blow, and jincan.

Jincan is like… it makes your mobbing ability go from pretty good to really good (assuming you know how to use it well, or else it’s meh)

On the other hand, archer 2 gives you 150 more crit rate and whatever kneeling is used for which benefits your QS and mergen part of your build.

So, you aren’t exactly losing much from Wugu 3 but you aren’t exactly gaining much either. It depends on if you are focusing on the non wugushi part of your build or not.

If you can make up the 150 crit rate difference with gear easily… that’s also another question to think about.

It’s actually really difficult to find info on Jincan Gu. I don’t know how much damage the bugs do, nor how to effectively use it.

EDIT: Also, you mentioned Wugong Gu getting more targets with levels? Is that how that works?

you will really use kneling shot?
i dont think 150 crit rate is worth for future late game…
i preffer wugu3

so basically, wugu3 for mobs? and archer2 for boss?

Hey, I’ve tried both paths! Went full str with wugu3 path and around ~110-120 DEX (if i rememb correctly) with Arch2 path, honestly the only difference is that: You attack faster with A2 and your poison hits a bit more with Wugu3. Your playstyle is a bit diff 2, with Arch2 QS3 feels more useful so you end up AA-ing more and with wugu3 you rely more on dropping poison. Although I love the way build works it’s honestly not that great. You don’t lose out at all and make it so there’s a higher chance for your Mergen skills to crit (which is your main burst part of the build). Imo full str QS3 doesn’t give enough atspeed so a bit dex is needed, as most wugu skills now scales with phys att and not STR (except Jincan). Imo if you like to PewPew fast go A2 route and put some points into dex (or not), otherwise go wugu3 :stuck_out_tongue: In the end: I don’t think Wugu3 is worth and actually wish there’d be something better than A2 as a filler.

Sorry late reply.

I still don’t know how jincan’s damage works. I want to believe it’s based off of monster stats, but they do a good chunk of damage for me (mainly because a shitton spawns). Or maybe it’s based on your p-atk as well.

The way it works now is that every monster that steps on the jincan poison puddle gets a 30 or 60 second debuff (that also deals damage). Every hit you do to the monster has a 10% chance of spawning bugs (1~5 of them depending on level). They explode on contact with a monster. The AoE size is about half of the puddle size to 1/4 of it. (Use it in DP2 and you’ll feel some lag because of the amount of bugs that spawn. but atleast it’ll one shot your pack when that happens)

They stay out for about 5 seconds if they fail to explode on a monster. The bugs also work as a mini taunt.

Wugong gu has a monster spread limit. It’s tied to the level of the skill. Lvl 5 can spread to five targets, and lvl 15 can spread to 15 targets. It spreads when you hit the original target that you used wugong gu on.

As a former Fletcher Mergen, let me say I love Wugushi, lol :frowning: I went with Archer 3 Wugushi 3 Falconer Mergen.

I enjoy my poison and Jincan is fun to use, haha. Love seeing all the bugs swarm monsters and then explode! Falconer is a nice utility class for filler (Though I love Falconer and wish I could be Falconer 3, hehe) and then Mergen for more AoE!

I got around 50 CON (Some people go as high as 100) and the rest on STR. My damage is quite good!

As the guy who literally wrote the guide. ill share some info on JicanGu.

1-It does scale with the character Stat:be it STR or playerlvl but weapon seems to have no influence on the dmg output
2-It is influenced by the player elemental dmg like hats, daggers, etc
3-bugs can recieve buffs.
4-Skill only increases the maximum amount of bugs generated from a single infected monster there is however no upper limit to number of monsters that can be infected nor bugs generated (be carefull when someone on your party plays on a microwave since it can crash them)
5-Upon death a monster will release all bugs it didnt summon previouslly so it wil allways span skilvl#of bugs
6-bugs can hold aggro on their own (old jincangu mechanic), explode on contact and dont generate aggro on the player, however jincan poison tick does generate aggro for the wugushi.
7- Theres a theory about the bugs splash dmg and player AoE ratio, however this needs more testing.

Swift step and lvl 10 gupot+jincan for the current classes its quite balanced decision (Crit rate is usefull but raw AoE dmg combo also is ), ideally you should have planed for it and have both (the reason im A3>Wugu3>Falc>Mergen crit based STR build) but since this is not the case…

150 crit rate is a Really good option and outweights wugu3 by far ONLY if you have good critical rate already from other sources Wich is REALLY expensive, if you have 0 crit rate 150 will do close to nothing to you, you need at least 500 crit total crit rate for it to work OTHERWISE ignore crit rate alltogether and focus on STR and ATK and go Wugu3 it will be far more usefull compared to a 5% final crit chance (more or less)

Hey! Sorry it took so long to get back to this topic.

In your opinion, is Wugu3 worth it? As much as I want to go Wugu3-Mergen, I’m thinking about other avenues (Cannoneer/Musketeer, or taking a rank of Falconer instead of Wugu3).

Apparently Wugushi 3 Musketeer 2 is fun, lol
