Bow vs other weps - A>R3>F2/3 - maybe cannon1. please help D:

Hi so im a little confused as far as weapons goes.

I need to know whats more viable for my build, ive seen some talks abt xbow + dagger, currently im lvl 40 and been using only bows so far.

Which weapon/set would grant me the most damage

Also class wise would it be better to Stick to a1/R3/F3 or swap F3 with Cannoner1?

my current stat build is 4str/2dex/1con.

xbow+dagger on in the future xbow+handgun (mana mana) is the best for elemental damage stack … but 2hbow is the best for fly monster …
Cannon is a secondary weapon … crossbow + cannon for him ^^

So theoretically Xbow+dagger/pistol is better overall than bow? unless its a flying monster ?

I did not now this… i thought i would stay bow forever

what is (mana mana), elemental damage stack ?

xbow is the best in fly monster but other monster cross+dagger/gun is the best
dagger = 153 fire damage (stack in main hand damage)
gun = - AoE Attack Ratio stat up1

  • Critical Rate stat +35
  • Movement Speed +1
  • Lightning Attack +278

can anyone else give me some input ?

Bows have higher damage than crossbows.

Reason why bows vs crossbows for certain mobs: Masteries.

Crossbow and dagger is mainly because of arde dagger, karacha etc. Additional elemental damage to supplement the lesser base damage.

(For skills)
Certain classes must use a crossbow - QS, Rogue, SR, Cannoneer
Certain classes must use a bow - Fletcher

Certain classes benefit more from the elemental damage, so they go for that instead of higher damage. E.g. Wugushi and their poison.

OoT, you sure you need that much CON? Usually people ignore or put CON and SPR to 10 or 20.

thanks for the reply. Well my con is like 11 atm, and I havent touched SPR at all, so stat wise Im not too concerned,

Yeah I see a lot of shouts abt that arde dagger, I guess I can see why.

WAit so if I use xbow I cant use fletcher skills ? So how can some people go F2 and then cannoner1?

or am I missing something here ?

So if I would stick to R3>F3 would it be better to just stick to bow?
I was curious abt xbow+dagger because it sounds like it deals that much more dmg according to some posts.

Ah…Oh, they removed the restrictions now. >< Sorry for scaring you.

wait so they removed the restriction o.o ?
I guess this is newish ?

So in that case would you recommend still picking xbow+dagger?
and maybe have a bow for a flying boss :c ?

It’s entirely up to your wallet. I would get both, but if you’re strapped for cash, just go for the one you really need. Not a lot of bosses are flying though, so you can avoid investing in a bow (and its masteries) if you’re going for Cannoneer and desperate for money.

In the case I wouldnt go cannoner and would stick to R2+F3, would you still recommend xbow+dagger though ?

It really depends on if you can get the good crossbows and daggers, and your mastery levels.

Personally, I would say yes but I was a Wugu/SR and currently going for a Sapper/Rogue, so my judgement might be biased.

Well I guess you make a valid point, if I cant get a decent dagger like the arder, there shouldnt be a point on going xbow right ? Since bow would outdmg it.

So I guess I just need to make sure I save enough and get a good dagger and then do the swap.

Especially since the normal daggers are found later in the game. Arde is the earliest, unless they’ve added more daggers.

I think ur right, i havent seen any lower lvl daggers. Ill do what I can do get one and get a nice xbow

Well… even without a dagger, the x-bows have a 25% piercing mastery and usually a closer minimum-maximum attack. I play A3-QS3 and usually the damage of the x-bow is higher on any mobs except the flying ones, bcause archers deal 200% damage on flying mobs, still the bows dont do the double of the dmg on the flying mobs, they do less. So, x-bows are slightly better. I do keep a bow with me, usually i’ld keep a really good one, but I dont do that anymore. And if I need to spend much gold on a weapon, I buy the good x-bow first, than the bow. It also comes with a shield which its handy.

However, you should always keep your eyes open for good bows, x-bows, shields and if you can try it, decide based on the damage you deal with them. We dont have all the damage formulas figured out.

So essentially with the peircing attribute Xbow plainly deals better dmg ? regardless if you have a dagger or not ?

Kind off, but it also depends on finding x-bows with the same average dmg as the bows… What I couldnt check is if the high lvl weapons dont have a big diference in their max average damage. Basically use a bow if the monster is a flying mob or if the bow you have is awesome, otherwise, probably the x-bow will give a better result for the piercing atribute.
