(I wasn’t sure if the rest of you guys wanted to be identified so I did elementary retouching…)
First off, this boss’s level is 24, meaning at most, the people killing it are expected to be around level 29. At minimum, 19.
When we first tried to kill it, (before I switched to my Hoplite), people were dying left and right, because the damage was so high. That’s OKAY. It’s GOOD, even. To be fair, we had no priests and the move that would most likely one-hit kill came with a huge telegraph so it was avoidable, meaning WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT with the given level range.
Even with the pitiful damage we were dishing out, we were making some headway. Maybe if we had another 10 people we would’ve been able to drop it’s hp to 50% more quickly and even kill it.
Somewhere along the way though, people didn’t want to keep spending coins to revive, or revive and walk back, and the boss’s HP was not visibly shrinking, so the number of fighters diminished severely.
I kept at it though since I figured-- Basic Game Boss Formula = high damage, high hp boss -> high reward.
I even switched to my Hoplite since it seemed like we wouldn’t make any headway otherwise, and for a large portion of the time, I was essentially doing damage solo, from approximately 40% hp to 10% hp… and even at the end was undoubtedly the largest individual contributor for damage (lv 43 vs lv 20’s, go figure).
This is where the problem that needs re-tuning is. THE REWARDS SUCKED.
Just in case you missed that, reworded:
THE REWARDS WERE NEGLIGIBLE AND INADEQUATE FOR THE HOUR WE SPENT FIGHTING.
Seriously, one guy gets a card, a few of us get some… cube… no equipment drops, measly amount of distributed money…
This needs adjustment. Not doing that again and I don’t recommend it either unless you wanted a Disgusting Deathweaver Cube… which gave me a card. Of the deathweaver, go figure.
I lost approximately 3k in total between potions spent and equipment repairs.
I’ll admit it was fun though. I just want rewards worth my effort. With only a few of us there, our individual portions should’ve been greater, but the reward amount was just too measly to begin with.
