Boruta Seal System made 30% of the invested players quit

Meanwhile some lucky bastards get on first try with no magic stone.

its like complimentary, additional, option.funny if its become a requirement like its stated in raid entrance that you need to have seal lv 3 or ppl start shouting must have seal lv 3. its not a must have and we know its gambling and tos is casino itself.this seal supposed to be the craziest one and i supposed everyone should do it when theres nothing left to power up say best gear lines, max gems, max attributes, best stat awakening, enchant jewel, +20++ enhance perhaps.then you can finally enter this casino. if you havent done those yet then this will likely make you feel wasted.

say, do you see majority having +20++ latest gear? do they really need it?(they want it yes) its a difference between becoming fine and better. you can do things just fine with level 2 but better or faster with 3. besides those seal are market tradable. just save your silvers and buy it from some lucky fella who actually made it to 3 or even 4 or 5 and still quit the game.

idk how you got those % but sure content can make you quit but its still on you whether you wanna quit or not.there could be another circumstances that made ppl quit or retire. or simply you just bored honestly.i ve been retiring many times, still not fond of rebuild changes, but i still admire the game especially the art style. thats it.

Ktest/KTOS has insane amount of seals available for people to bump it out. Almost 40% of the popular has the borutat seal +5

If only its like ichor with multiple attempts. Keep the magic stones then, just dont break the seals themselves.

Like this one, all gone in one go

Since Boruta only had 2-3 months more pre-run before it came to iTOS, the amount of seals that has entered the server should’ve been the same amount till that time (top 3 guild rewards + top 30 player cubes at low chance).
Only after the changes to the guild mission Boruta we can expect some discrepancy since you get x seals (1 iirc ) when clearing the mission, meaning the number of players/guilds now makes a difference.

And since Korea has more players than all of iTOS, you can ± say that they probably have about 2-3 times the seals available (though they also break more).

As stated above, the bottleneck is the magic stones, which cannot be farmed in a conventional way (capped number of cubes per week per player = capped amount of magic stones).

If there were more magic stones available, there would be more seals available as well, as less would break before reaching the +3 Boruta Seal you need for the maximum performance of your legendary set skill.

I dont see how this would be the case since the rewards from Boruta are consistent, regardless of # of players. If anything, less players would be more active seals since less are being eaten up.

oh is that so? post prove

dont think they have more

It’s a good system. As much as I hate gambling gear, I cannot think of a better way to deal with the insane amount of seals giving to the player.
Maybe 4 seals to forge a lv2 and like 15 to forge a lv3, 60+ for lv4 and 200 for lv5. Does that make you feel better?

In addition why are we comparing our system to ktos? We gonna merge with player data or we gonna have an international pvp/pve match? Is thier system or environment anyway better than ours?

eh been roaming around ktos server, i rarely see +4 seal.
never seen actual +5 besides that video posted here in this thread
do you have some actual proof or something that around 40% of population attained +5?

In my 3 attempts to make lv 3 boruta seal , 2 succeeded e 1 got destroyed … normal outcome for a 70% sucess rate I guess .
Nevertheless it’s very, very frustrating to fail this.

Things that should become easier to make , or less impossible , are seals level 4 / 5 . Also Legend Card beyond lv 6 /7 are extremely unfair.

Thankfully, +3 seals aren’t so huge a benefit that everyone absolutely has to have them, in fact most dragon strength lv1 bonuses are pretty terrible.

Rykuma is arguably the best, and thats just for pvp.

As expected, the server is being flooded with seals and anyone who really wants a Drakonis set has one by now.

The number of seals does not go up with the number of players, but rather the number of unique guilds participating in GTW. Korea has 2 months on us, but each itos server (outside probably Fedimian) consistently has 5 guilds getting the extra seal rewards. This does not include of course the 3 guilds getting rank 1-3 rewards the entire time Boruta was a GVG map, but those seals are still out there in approximately the same number.

The one seal from the regular event is probably the same on a server to server basis. But the claim that 40% of Korean players have any seal, let alone stages 3+, is asinine. I’m willing to bet that a pretty large number of people play this game casually and aren’t even working actively on endgame gear, let alone best in slot stuff. The stage 3+ min-max game is something you do when you already have everything else you need.

This is also why I don’t agree with the OP. 30% of invested players may have quit–though that’s not any kind of real number, it’s probably anecdotal at best–and if they did, it was because the seal is such a small upgrade for the cost in most cases and there isn’t any content to actually do at that point. Invested players are already pushing through layers and layers of RNG, and the RNG “extends” the life of the little bits of content we have already, but what we need to keep players is just more things to do with the gear we already have.

It’s probably extremely frustrating to fail a seal upgrade but:
How more or less frustrating is it than anviling 10 20 or so weapons to get a +16?
How more or less frustrating is it than trying to get a legend card from 5 to 6?
How more or less frustrating is it to get a movespeed enchant on your slot 3?
How more or less frustrating is it to get a main damage jewel enchant?
(And then get one for more than 0.2%)?
How more or less frustrating is it to get an attack awakening?
(And then get one for more than 30)?

How hard would it be to add more quests with guaranteed value rewards for these things, even if they were long quests, but still something to do that didn’t feel like a dice roll? How about adding more cosmetic rewards to hidden quests, more hidden things in general, more adventure journal pets, more literally anything?

afaik every Guild that clears the Boruta guild mission receives (regardless of GTW participation) for clearing the mission some Boruta pouches and 1 Seal box.
So having more guilds and more players will result in more Seals.

The real frustration is probably that you have to wait several months to have enough Seals (unless the guilds do the upgrading and then give out the finished +3 seals to the core members) to attempt a +3 and/or higher upgrade.
If you fail that you have to play that Boruta again (which is boring content without real challenge, specifically designed for cookie cutters & whales) for several months just to get another attempt with 30% failure rate.

Unlucky people might just quit after failing 2 or 3 times consecutively…

Tbh I don’t understand why +3 doesn’t have a 100% fail save upgrade for like 25 magic stones and instead +4 and +5 have better effects to make it more worthwhile for people to actually attempt going that far…
At the moment, stage 5 is just not worth the attempt, the only accessory set that might have been worth the extra effect is Kite Moor, and with the SFR changes it’s not worth it anymore either…

This implies that people aren’t going to do Boruta regardless. The rewards are too substantial to ignore.

Magic Stones aside, failing a +3 will just mean you are back to stage 1 for a while, which sucks but it isn’t the end of the world. I disagree that it should have a chance to fail, since it is just exacerbating the problem that this game content is based on RNG failure, but I am not certain people are quitting because of a +3 fail.

They are quitting because there is simply nothing to do.

considering they release transcend scroll they may even release +11 +16 +21++ enhancement scroll next year.not gonna surprise me.

what funny is old veteran players invested time in saalus when saalus not reworked, doing dozens saalus a day, stacking bg just to know there will be an item to do it so easily.
i would say the time spent on saalus back then(plus the stress doing repetitive content) vs the money they could make to spend on t scroll somewhere equal.
talk bout hardwork, you can manifest the hardwork on getting real money then to spend it for in game stuff.

they already release a ticket to 400 stuff which honestly make this dying state feel more terrible

haha, sometimes i still do salus 15x -20x a day, even more when we had this coin event , everyone doing it.
and i’m stacking bg like a goblin stacks gold. hahah.

but not having it rework is really killing it.
imc should have let the old salus(difficulty wise) be the 240 earlier nuubs salus and created a new salus for lvl 330±400 + that not only gave more shards but also is harder than even the one we have now.
with this players with low set and ability could do the old salus without too much problems and still receive their one shard.
middle level range players could do the current salus, receiving 2 shards or even the box with 3 shards and one shard after some runs.
veterans with high end game set would do the new level 400 raid salus who would give him more shards but would also be a new Simplified raid daily content, for example only one super boss at raid difficulty level but without too much gimmick’s, just raw strength since is after a daily simplified raid for 400 end game gear+.
we would have content for 3 level zones, 240-300; 300-400; 400+. and of course would be shared entrance and players would received extra = the time they invested in the game and in their characters, if you have a nuub lvl 400 chars you would do a nuub salus even at level 400 and receive the money from it but if you have super OP all endgame char you could do the high level salus and receive a extra from it as well.

Oh no please.

It’s already fifficult to find a group for Saalus on auto-match. Imagine how hard it would be if we divide the already few players into two groups ?!?!
