BM AA Build Question

Hello

I have a conundrum of re-re nature. I really want to try out the Falconer-BM combo, so I checked out the builds and the closest to what I’d like is this:

The problem is my dumb OCD sees only one rank of BM as some kind of a problem, and for some reason I really want to stick rank 2 of BM in there resulting in this:

I don’t really understand the “Circling” and “Aiming” skills. From what I understand one works as a low key Joint Penalty spreading my AA to mobs in range and the other allows melee classes to attack at longer range, but I don’t know which is which.

My question is, does that build make sense? Is it “go Falc 3 or ditch it all together”?

I’m sorry but I get brain cramps when I see only 1 circle of class in any build, and this thing is really bothering me…

Falc 3 > BM1
or Falc1 > BM2. (Rogue is more popular and more logical than falc 1)

Aiming increases monster hit box. This is the main reason for taking falc (or falc 3 for that matter). otherwise falc1 only for circling.

Upon using aiming , you’ll see a circle which becomes a part of the target hitbox. So yes it helps melee but it doesn’t end there. Skills like Hail, Arrow Sprinkle, etc will likely have all their hit counts “hit” the target, making it more on the OP side with the correct team

Circling reduces AoE Def ratio of monsters, allowing your RIP and BOD to hit more per cast.

I suggest Falc3. Pre-emptive, Aiming, stronger pheasant, some attributes are key to falc.

Circling no longer spreads your archer AA, attribute was nerfed. It now gives you aoe attack ratio instead, which is still useful for RIP and BOD

Then the whole point of adding falconer goes down the drain. And here I was hoping that I’d get good AoE with AA…

Well, you can still do AoE Bursts+consistent AA damage along with pre emptive strike which is also aoe but small radius (uses sonic).

So that’s still something.

And aiming is something that every party wants.

Yeah, especially now that Frost Pillar no longer vacuums in mobs…

Welp, that brings me to the alternative - either A3/QS3/Rogue1/BM2 or A2/QS3/Rogue2/BM2. I guess the 2nd one seems better since at lv 10 Sneak hit gives 50% crit chance (from backattack) but the rest of the skills are kinda crappy… Capture works best with Sapper and Broom Trap :stuck_out_tongue: I’m gonna need 3 Werewolfs anyway.

But this way I’m gonna lose frigton of AoE, sigh… Dumb nerf, and I got so excited for falc-bm…

Use a gazing golem. you don’t want your BOD to get interrupted by minor flinches.

do consider:
Archer2>QS3>Rogue>Appraiser>BM2

Try this if it can bypass your OCD. Taking Falconer3 as your last rank instead. Keep in mind that you are Falconer first and BM is just filler :grinning:

AR2-QS3-Falcon2-BM-Falcon3

Yeah, but the thing is I’d like to be BM first and the rest just a filler. And BM build options are kinda limited as you need QS3 for Running Shot. I tried experimenting and with A1/QS3/X/BM2 the options are (these can go up to c3):
Archer c2: I don’t know if it’s a good idea do drop A2 since it has SS crit attribute…
Ranger: I once liked that class but its skills are only good early game. I feel the further I go in the game the weaker they become.
Hunter: I don’t really feel that class, so pass.
Sapper: Honestly Broom Trap is the only reason to go for this, but even then with combination with Rogue is where it really shines.
Wugushi: Despite everyone looking down on this class, I always liked it. DoT combined with BM’s machinegun like speed would melt a lot of stuff, I think. But for some reason I just can’t see it in this build…
Scout: Never played that class, but it doesn’t really seem to offer much here.
Rogue: To me it seems that the only reason to go for this class is Sneak Hit. Capture - meh, works best with Sapper. Feint - I don’t really feel it’s effect that much. Vendetta - haven’t tried it. I never went past c2 of this class so I can’t say much.
Fletcher: Never played that class but the skills work with xbow+pistol, so it’s an option.
Appraiser: Oh sweet jeebus this class. For the amount of pain the quest to unlock this thing brings, I never felt it’s bonuses. Blindside is a powerhouse at the beginning, but it later gets struck with a case of Ranger-itis. Overestimate? I heard to truly feel the effect of this skill I need my pistol to be at least +11. Devaluation? See Feint. I’d rather put those points toward Identify.

I remember my first choice when the class came out was A3/QS3/App/BM2.
Now the most reasonable choice IMO is A3/QS3/R1/BM2 ( I don’t think 10% more crit chance is worth wasting a rank).

PS does Kneeling Shot work with DGS?

Circling never spread your archer AA. Also any BM2 build without at least silver bullet 1 is made by a fool.
Don’t A3 kneeling shot unless you are a masochist.
You have 2 paths, QS3ROGUEFalc3BM or A2QS3RogueApBm2. First one can be played with any stats since it’s broken, second one is only if you are incredibly geared and full dex.
When archer patch hits you will have more paths for BM2.

This is the non-braindead skill build, you can max circling for more aoe uptime or use half of the points to max pheasant and half for circling.

Silver Bullet level 5 is too good to pass up, grants you 50% extra damage against all devil with basic attacks and gun skills.

Circling makes enemy Aoe defense go to 1, aiming increases the hitbox of monsters so they fit the purple circle around them.

Build is good for all content, nice AA and nice Aoe. Not the best at anything.

It does. You can read my guide if you’re interested in BM2.

Kneeling shot is meant to be a filler. There are cases where even BOD is good to use when aiming is applied, so there’s only little room for kneeling shot AA because mozambique cooldown is low

Usually kneeling shot is only useful for damage sponges like cm6/7 bosses
