just got it, super helpful.
but it seems bannable.
can you get banned from using this?

Technically, you CAN. Will you? No. This addon is probably used by 80% of the player base and imo. is not intrusive.

Most leveling guides will tell you to get it. I show myself using it all the time in my YouTube videos. If they do decide to ban people for using it, they will give out a warning of some sort to give people time to uninstall it.

We badly need an official statement regarding what the VAC Covers IMC

Mods are really in the gray area because as evidently stated on the terms of use, any modification to the game client is not allowed, but IMC is lenient on the ones that don't give unfair advantages to players who choose to use them. I don't have a "final" official statement from IMC but I've gotten word that the following will not get you banned: -EXP viewer -Fog viewer I'll check again about BetterQuest.

There are no “instantly illegal” add-ons now until IMC says such an add-on is, and I think you don’t get insta-banned unless it’s gravely gamebreaking (e.g. cxAnywhere).

re:add-on policy, if IMC deems an add-on as “not allowed”, they’ll announce it, give players enough time to uninstall/remove said add-on, and then start banhammering those who are still using it after the set deadline.

TLDR Until IMC says that it is not, any add-on is allowed.

Ones that were preivously tagged as “not allowed” AFAIK is cxAnywhere and any auto-pot add-on.
