Best ways to increase Sonic Strike damage(hunter/falconer build)?

this is obviously in anticipation for Falc3 and i’m going all the way with a pet build and am currently A2/H3/Falc2.

i’m looking for the best way to boost falcon damage and i kind of have hunter pet figured out(character’s P-atk counts for all hunter skills except rush dog which is based on the pet’s own stats) but don’t really know what affects the falcon’s damage besides the obvious like the skill attribute.

should i spend money on upping the falcon’s atk? maybe get as high str as possible just like with hunter pet(while keeping some dex to crit etc.)?

if anyone knows the formula please share =).

oh and a quick tip for the other hunters out there(it feels like there’s only 2-3 left besides myself XD):
you can use the premium pet and mount him to get around many of the bugs with pet AI.

coursing not done when the enemy is long dead? mount pet and move him away.

pet won’t move close to the enemy and start retrieve/coursing? mount pet and move directly on top of the enemy and try again.

obviously not an ideal solution since it’s really expensive($25 for a pet and all) but with a broken AI we have to use any means available to us.

anyways if anyone can enlighten me on falconer i’ll be grateful.

thanks

Sonic strike damage = fake multi-hit.
Will add +50% damage, and display at 6 hits.

@Composition can confirm, likely.

Hunter will get buffed soon.

Hunter
► Snatching:
○ Damage increased to 287 ( Previously 143)
○ Damage per level increased to 64 ( Previously 32)
► Rush Dog
○ Damage increased to 680.34 ( Previously 453.56)
○ Damage per level increased to 133 ( Previously 89)
► Praise
○ Now also increases Companion’s attackspeed for [Skill Lv * 0.3] Seconds

A convenient feature for companions has been added.
(1) - Auto Attack ON/OFF
- Whilst this is toggled ON the companion will aggressively attack monsters.
- OFF state will mean companion will not
attack monsters. However, **Falconer/Hunters companions can still attack **
in the OFF state.
- This can be toggled in the companion window (F9), or alternatively typing ‘cpattack on/off’ in the chatwindow.

(2) - A Similar Function
- If you write /comeon in the chat window, the companion will go to where the player is located

To be honest I can’t pinpoint the source of damage for sonic strike, I don’t know if it is related to hawk’s or player’s stats, only thing I’m certain about is: it deals low damage, but since it will trigger on its own on rank 8, 7~8k every now and then vs the 45 seconds of manual seems a lot better.

Based on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S3oRBDxjag
The guy is a full str hunter/falconer so it might be based off player’s attack, however I’m not certain. My avg. damage with sonic strike is around 7~8k with 902-933 Patk.

Does pre-emptive strike depend based on character’s amount of hits or hit per second?

I mean, will a character that attacks faster (i.e. quarrel shooter with running shot) be able to trigger Sonic Strike more often than an archer with 2h bow?

yeah i saw that video too and it’s too bad he doesn’t show the stats of his falcon =/.

@mrshadowccg
supposedly there’s no difference in attack speed since it(like hovering) attacks at its own pace so probably not gonna be like autoblitz like it was in RO.

Here you go, falcon stats:

nice thx.

don’t know if it’s the high level or if he has pumped its stats a lot(my falcon is only 19x with around 410 attack and half the crit rate) but at least i know what to aim for to get his type of damage when i get to that point.

Well, my hawk’s stat are close to his/her but I don’t deal nearly as much damage. (Maybe atribute? I have it at 0, hunter/falconer doesn’t pay well)
However, if you pay attention while attacking a flying type with sonic strike with and without a 2H bow you will notice a increase/decrease in damage. This could mean that it behave similar to retrieve/coursing scaling to your damage.

He puts the stats of his falcon in the video description.

The issue in that video is that he is attacking plate mob and getting 50% bonus strike dmg

It took me a while to notice this, but you can see in the video that his attribute is at 51.

That combined with the plate armor of the mob he’s demonstrating on probably accounts for the discrepancy.
