The Nintendo’s Business Model is horrible and should not be taken as standard. Although I am a fan of Nintendo and has most of the conesoles (portable ones specially).
The Nintendo DRM’s model that lock the games to the console is horrible, if you damage the console you lose all the keys that you brought. There is no discount at the ninendo e-shop and a LOT of other problems.
The Nintendo is losing money just because of the bad decisions and focus their decisions based on the Japanese public, ignoring the rest of the world.
Your example only reiterates that the IMC should look more carefully at the feedback from the community, something that we are giving them free and consultancy companies charge a lot of money to do.
