First of all thank you for letting me play in the iCBT. I wanted to write my feedback earlier but I wasn’t sure how I want it… and now I was waiting for that survey that I think I will never get so I decided to write my opinion here at last.I loved a lot of things in the game, the graphics, the diversity of classes, the fighting style/general gameplay etc. but let’s talk about what I didn’t like because that what helps develope the game.
The biggest issue of the game right now is that it’s too linear imo.
Nothing else because everything else could be easily changeable later but this part of the game isn’t that easily changeable. I have to say too that I’m afraid that only a few people see this because a lot of people don’t have enough game experience to feel it. I think those who played with games like Ragnarok or Mabinogi will never truly enjoy a game that is linear. When you feel like you just going from map to map from A to B and never even look back it just makes the game boring after some time. We need the feeling that we are exploring the game freely and even if we explored everything it’s important that we moving around in the world and not just stick to the final maps.
Suggestions:
I read that you will make around 3 maps for different levels to be able to level on but it still won’t be enough. I think it would help a lot if there would be more towns and all of them would be accessible from the beginning. The towns could be connected with low level monster maps ( safe roads ). The towns could offer different things like different NPC shops that sell different things in diffrent towns, different Class Masters… even attribute teaching masters of the same class could be distributed in different towns/places so you have to explore even more. It would help a lot for people to feel like they are exploring or moving around in the world and not just sticking to one place and interacting between higher and lower level players could be more common too.
The different leveling spots should offer different classes to shine and I don’t think it’s good to force people to move to another place to level because monsters won’t give any xp after 10-20 levels for you there anymore because your level is too high. I think people should move to better places by themselves because they feel that other places offers better xp or just because they are bored of being on the same place.
Low level maps should offer drops that is useful for higher level players. There should be some high level bosses too on low level maps. Maybe it seems rude but it’s actually fun when you meet something big and scary when you are a low level little player.
Bosses and I think normal monsters too should be able to spawn anywhere on the map not on fixed spots and be able to move around everywhere too. We can have some fixed spawns but that should be more rare. We have maps after all…just let the monsters wander around freely.
Make the weapons and armors less restricted to levels too and try to make more different/unique ones instead. It makes the game quite linear too if we need new weapons and armors every 10 levels and we just “throw away” the lower level ones. It would make us try to upgrade weapons/armors more too because we would know we can stick to that for a longer period of time.
I hope there will be some unique gems that we can put into the equipment slots other than those stat ones.
The second bigger issue of the game is that it lacks features and there is not much to do other than grinding.
This actually can be changed anytime and we are in early stages of the game anyway but we will need other engagements in the game other than grinding. It could be really great if some of these other features would let you progress in the game at least almost as much as leveling and grinding.
Suggestions:
-Guild wars with castles
-Commercing between towns*
-Some kind of fun explorations.*
-Different type of dungeons. (100floortowertype, tower defense type, dungeons with puzzles and lots of traps etc. )
-Life jobs/professions*
-More mini games.
*I know that you put some production classes in the main class trees so it makes everything a bit different but I still think it would be great if we could have Life Jobs/Professions that provide different kind of gameplay. I will make another topic about it how I could imagine it because it would go too far in this feedback topic.
At last I would say I will play this game anyway because it’s beautiful and I love the classes but it really depends on what I wrote down here that how long will this game be able to engage me.
(…and I addressed it a bit to the developers who maybe won’t read it nvm but anyone who dares to read it feel free to disagree but be warned that one of the most things that irritates me when people say “it’s not that kind of game” even if it wouldn’t hurt their gameplay in anyway )
