Archer class design has the right idea - Higher SP costs with lower cooldowns

They’re the most active class in the game by far.

From early game all the way to late game, they have a lot of low to 0 CD skills, which means you always have something fun to press, and you’re rarely waiting around for long CDs. This is balanced this out by having higher SP costs, which also encourages grouping with classes that offer regen like Dievs.

They also adapt much better to the lower spawn rates, since a lot of the high CD skills with large AoEs on other classes is wasted when you’re mostly killing mobs in groups of 1-3 during questing.

The majority of the game is spent constantly moving and killing enemies quickly, rather than sitting in one spot (especially because of low spawnrates), so having lots of moves with high cooldowns is counter-intuitive outside of boss fights/PvP. Leveling a Cleric is very painful/boring early on, for example, because your normal attack is weak and you have very few low CD moves – especially against flying.

I feel like this is the direction IMC should go in with future class updates. Have more fun abilities that we can use often – at a cost – instead of giving us moves that we can only use once a minute or less.

All classes being the same would be boring. Having big flashy skills with long cds to use as hay makers are enjoyable to and add flavor to a class.

The problem is that those big flashy skills with long CDs make it very hard to level when questing mostly consists of constantly moving through sparsely populated areas.

It’s good at end-game when you start the dungeon grind, but not very good from like 1-160. That’s a long time for a lot of players.

Except you can start dungeon grining at 90+. And it takes little effort to get to 90 can easily be done in 3 days CASUAL play.

Basically your saying its bad for grinding, but you only really have to grind once you out lvl the existing content.

I’m not saying it’s bad for grinding. I’m actually saying it’s incredibly good for grinding. I’m saying that long CD AoEs are good for grinding but not for questing.

Also, dungeons have a limit of 2x per day. You can’t really grind them.

2 dungeons and 2 missions is tons of xp each day.

Not disputing that, but it’s not something you can do all day. The majority of everyone’s play time is questing/grinding, not dungeons.
